Don't forget the Longest parkrun takes place tomorrow. This is a self-timed social event where you can run anything from 1 to 7 parkruns in a day.

Please be sensible and run within your limits.

We start tomorrow morning at 6:30am at Kingscliff, 7:50am at Kirra, 9:20am at Main Beach, 10:50am at Coomera (we stop for a picnic lunch there after the run), 1:30pm at Cleveland, 3pm here at Wynnum, and 4:30pm at South Bank.

Please join us for a social run at any or all of the above parkruns - if you don't fancy a run then come along and cheer people at Wynnum at 3pm! Thanks, Alan.

P.S. The route and directions are here

Once you have finished then fill in your times here

A special parkrun is coming to Wynnum this Saturday 2nd March

This coming week Wynnum parkrun is going to be 6 months old, and boy have we grown over the last 6 months. Roisin and I would like to thank all the volunteers and runners who have made our parkrun such a friendly and special parkrun.

Last week we had another record attendance but next week I am sure we will have even more!

Rather than just pat ourselves on the back and celebrate our first 6 months we want to help Jetts Fitness raise much needed funds for the Red Cross QLD Flood Appeal. As you know our course was under water only a few weeks ago, but thanks to the council and a bit of hard graft we were back running the next week. But others in QLD are not as fortunate and we want to help give back to those who lost everything and need our help.

Of course we are holding our normal free 5km parkrun - but alongside this our fiends from Jetts Fitness will working hard to raise funds for the Red Cross QLD Flood Appeal.

There will be a sausage sizzle, cold drinks, and a raffle with some fabulous prizes. There will also be a goody bag for everyone who finishes the parkrun!

We are going to be asking people to stay a little longer than usual, until after the last person has finished. So we can all give them a very big cheer!

So make a note in your diaries to come to us on Saturday 2nd March, bring a friend, bring some money and stay a little longer.

All money raised will go straight to the Red Cross Flood Appeal, so please be as generous as you can and enjoy what promises to be an awesome event!

Hope to see you all there, Alan & Roisin

Manly Harbour Village Halloween Party

There is a Halloween Street Party in Manly starting at 11am this coming Saturday 27th October, and going on until fireworks at 9pm. It is not going to effect our parkrun but some people may want to head to Manly afterwards and enjoy the market, rides, parade and free entertainment on offer throughout the day. Fancy dress at the parkrun is optional! Hope to see you all there. Regards Alan & Roisin

Twilight Bay Run

parkrun likes to encourage people to take part in local events and clubs as well as just parkrun events. So here are some details of the Twilight Bay Run will take place on 22 September...

This event is organised by "Intraining" the same people who organised the Twilight Run earlier this year. They are using a route very similar to the one we are going to use for Wynnum parkrun, but they are running on the roads, whereas parkrun is using the Foreshore and MBC paths which are a little closer to the Bayside. They have a range of distances from 1km to half marathons.

The Twilight Bay Run is a paid event and you need to register with them in advance. You can find out more information by following this external link to Intraining's website http://www.intrainingevents.com.au/default.asp?contentID=4
