Storm season approaching!

As we head into the summer storm season it is worth noting that Wishart parkrun is on every saturday through the holiday season (we don't close!). Please thank your dedicated Run Directors and fellow volunteers for that!
We also will not stop for persistent rain, however the main problem we encounter with heavy overnight rain is flooding around Faustini Bridge. The creek does drain very quickly, so a flood friday night has often subsided by saturday morning. However there is always alot of debris on the bridge after a flood, so if you can venture down early saturday and give me a hand clearing it, it will be appreciated!

Also during the storm season, if there is a storm overhead, we will most likely cancel the event on short notice. Obviously no one wants to run in a storm anyway and our event's official risk assessment makes careful mention of the fact that we do have trees on the course and the risk may be too high to our parkrunners of branches falling.

Note: We will make the call around 6:15AM of the saturday and advise via the FB page and this website. Also there will be someone at the picnic hut to let you know the event is off.
If there are any questions about this, please email Adrian at wishartoffice@parkrun.com or see me saturday.

Pacer week is this parkrunday!

Pacers are volunteers who run the course at an even pace and try to finish as closely as possible to a specific target time - they can be very helpful in learning to run at an even pace and in helping you get a PB (maybe even cracking a major milestone for the first time).

Our pacers will wear high visibility volunteer jackets - with their target times written on the back - so you can spot them out on the course.

On Saturday we'll have pacers for 24, 25, 27, 30 minutes and 35 minutes! See you there!!
