Warwick parkrun Event #59, 1 November 2014

Twas the morning after Halloween but there didn't seem to be a sugar hangover amongst the 56 parkrunners who showed up this morning. We welcomed 2 new parkrunners to the Warwick family and were happy to see some old friends returning to the course. After the heat we have had this week, we were blessed with a cool breeze and even a few drops of rain. Plenty of smiling faces showed the reward of the 14 new PBs that were set today. It was wonderful to welcome another Junior into the 10 Club, well done to Alanah Charge.

It claims us all at some point.  Get in touch if you want to find out more or check out there website www.rifrev.com. They will be running workshops after the run next Saturday (29th) for adults and kids - contact us for prices (very reasonable) and will get your name down on the list.

Start line

Back to today! We were 57 strong with registered parkrunners today and a beautiful morning for it - it was too!
Thanks to all those who helped my muddled brain with fixing the start and finish points (I had them back to front), all was smoothed out quickly and we were set and ready to go eagerly counting down the seconds at the starting flag.
Wonderful to see our visitors from Toowoomba and Brisbane parkruns trying out our course and loving it by all accounts - congrats to the Toowoomba parkrunner for coming a close 2nd!

First and second place

An excellent team helping me out today was Vickie cheering you on at the weir - Rachel and her boys seeing you home safely as the tail - Ann working the scanner magic, Pete doing more stopping than watching (while also competing with Oscar on guess how many runners we had on the course - to win....a gum leaf....jealous?) and Oscar Pohlman getting some great pictures of this run on Warwick Show weekend. I must not forget too parkrunner Chris who was not down to volunteer but turned up early grabbed the hammer and got some signs out for me - the help was greatly appreciated.

Token collection

It gave me goosebumps hearing a fair number of you cross the line and be elated at the time you finished in - many PBs today it seemed!
Well done all for getting up, getting outside and getting round the river....Twice! despite the temptations of a show holiday lay in :)
Only one volunteer spot to fill for next week but we are ALWAYS in need of volunteers for future weeks so please get in touch - it is great to experience Warwick parkrun from the organisation side too.

Your run director for today - Jo Cuskelly - loved every minute as all the Warwick run directors do!!
