Warwick parkrun #138. May 14th, 2016

What a fabulous, if somewhat chilly, morning for parkrun. 73 runners made it out of bed to enjoy the 4 degree morning. The coffee from Urban Mist Mobile Speciality Coffee was extremely welcome as the volunteers awaited the return of the runners.

This week we welcomed several first timers, one visitor from Perth and four visitors from New Zealand. We also announced our parkrunner of the month - Robyn Cameron.

Our Pacer week was very well utilised, with 14 runners recording a PB and Soph breaking her PB and her previous course record, to set a new female course record of 19.25. Congratulations to Soph, Cahal, Ben, Meggie, Rachel, Meggan, Betty Rose, Veronica, Shannon, Noela, Robyn, Tara, Teena and Damien on your PBs. A huge thankyou to Nathan, Paul, Justin and Sandra for pacing our runners.

With this being International Volunteers Week, we would like to thank all of our parkrunners who step up and volunteer each week to keep our parkrun ticking along. A special thankyou this week to Jason on stopwatch, Lachie the photographer, Laura on finish tokens, Llewellyn on Barcode scanning, Jeff encouraging you at the weir and Anthony making sure you all got back safely.

Don't forget there is no parkrun next Saturday as the Warwick Pentath half marathon will be using our track. We will be back at the usual time on Saturday 28th May. At present our volunteer roster is looking very light on, so please let us know if you can help us out.

For any interested parkrunners there will be a group run at 5pm on Friday afternoon to showcase our parkrun track to our visitors. This is a purely social run, not affiliated with parkrun and does not count to your parkrun tally.

We hope to see lots of you out doing the Pentath 5km at Sandy Creek next Saturday, and any other runs you may be doing over pentath weekend.
