Wagga parkrun, Event #135 30/01/2021
Wagga has had approx. 70mm of rain over the last 2 days, which has dampened the course but certainly did not dampen the spirits of todays parkrunners! 92 participants made their way out and back around Lake Albert this morning for event #135, with 8 first timers to Wagga parkrun, with 4 being first timers to parkrun! Welcome to all and we hope to see you in the coming weeks!
We also had a whopping 10 new PBs today, congratulations to: Robert Ditchfield, Mark Walker, Matthew Morrow, Vince Mescia, Ruth Murray, Natalia Dajski, Shahnaz Alhamy, Stephanie Watts-Fawkes, Bruce Fleming and Lynette Wheatley!
Massive round of applause to you all, and todays results have been emailed out with the full set of results available via the following link: https://www.parkrun.com.au/wagga/results/weeklyresults/?runSeqNumber=135
Shout-out to our superstar volunteers that made this event happen: Esther Biggs, Patricia Denton, Carolyn Driscoll, Lee-Anne Driscoll, Malcolm Edgar, Sarah Jones, Chris Scott, Katherine Scott and Steve Weiderman.
Next week (6th February) we are looking for a Marshal for our halfway point, and a photographer (not essential but we all love parkrun photos)! The following week (13th February) we are looking for a marshal and a timekeeper. These events cannot be run without our fantastic volunteers, and if you have run more than 10 times, please consider volunteering as our regular volunteers also love running/walking too! Take a look at our future roster and if you see a position you think you can help with come and see us or send us a message! https://www.parkrun.com.au/wagga/futureroster/
We always welcome new and returning volunteers who can get on board by either the roster board at each event, messaging our Fb page or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org . Volunteers also get a free coffee (or hot chocolate) at our post parkrun café – Mock Orange in the Lake Village Shopping Centre.
We look forward to seeing you next Saturday the 6th Feb for event #136!
