Temporary change to course

Due to construction of a path at the Jetty opposite the Junction Hotel, from July 17 2021 for about 6 weeks our event will be starting in The Terrace Park where our usual northern turnaround is at the Fitzgerald Bridge (Seaham Road). Please arrive early for the Pre-Event briefing on the changes to our course. We will be doing three laps essentially starting in The Terrace Park and running south towards the construction zone around the Jetty opposite the Junction hotel and then back to The Terrace Park.

Please check our Facebook page each week from July 17, 2021 for updates.

Third Anniversary – Changes to our course

Saturday 26th of January is The Terraceparkrun's third anniversary. As the day is also Australia Day and that means that we are sharing the park with lots of other people.

We have had to alter the course on Saturday to allow Australia Day celebrations to take place and to ensure we can still do parkrun. The main change will be that rather than running down the pavers from the "choke point" near the jetty we will run through the bollards that would normally be taped off, through the car park and up Hunter Street. At the end, you will veer right towards the boat ramp and then through the gate on to the bitumen runway. Hunter Street will be closed to traffic and we will have 4 extra marshalls to help you find your way.

Also, note that due to the road closures parking will need to be on Port Stephens St as Hunter and some surrounding streets will be closed.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook Page to see updates closer to Saturday.

See you all on Saturday

Hello Everyone,

This will also be our 100th event!

We are excited to be hosting our first one and there is an event page on Facebook if you would like to let us know you are coming here.

We will not be hosting a New Years Day in 2018, but intend to in 2019.

The Terrace parkrun Weekly Report #30

It was our 30th parkrun on Saturday 20th August and we had a good return to numbers! We imagine summer will see another boost, and with 18 First Timers yesterday, we are pretty excited! Considering we had no one from outside of the Region Of Runners (The Hunter), our crowd of 128 Finishers created a great spirit on the day!

We did lose one token, so if you are the Finisher number 9 (see Facebook), please return the token! You are still welcome back!

Congratulations to Amity Blatch who achieved her 10th parkrun yesterday!

Our roster for the coming weeks is looking pretty healthy, but please feel free to check out our roster and see if there is a role you can fill here.

We also have our Personal Better Day, where if you haven’t been to a parkrun, or been missing for a while, we encourage you to come along! If you have friends or family who would like to see come along, the 3rd September would be a great day!

And finally, coming up we have our next Top Twenty Finishers Day, where if you are a male or female who have finished in the top 20, we would love you to volunteer on Saturday 24th September.

Thank you to all our volunteers today:

The Terrace parkrun Weekly Report #27

Well, we did it! All of us! We have now been around for 6 months (and 1 week … we aren’t sure what happened there, but at least we celebrated it!)

We could not have sought a better day weather wise, with the skies being clear and it being fresh, but not windy or cold! It was also great seeing so many dressed up in fancy dress, or simply dressed up as parkrunners! Well done! There was a great spirit out there today! We hope those of you who were first-timers had a great morning out!

Congratulations to Nathan Hynds on achieving your 10th parkrun as one of our juniors!

Congratulations to Peter Bryan on achieving your 50th parkrun!

We also want to welcome aboard Matt Godwin and Nathan Darcy as Run Directors!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered over the last 6 months. If you haven’t had a chance to volunteer please seriously consider giving back to those who have been supporting you as you have been out running. Please check out the future volunteer roster to see how you may be able to give back.
