This morning we trialed the WET WET WET course as the dreaded "puddle of doom" matured into a full "ocean of terror".
This course will be used only when the weather demands it and we will return to the usual course as soon as the ocean parts enough to become a puddle again.

See you all next week and remember the volunteer list is always in need of a few more names.

Event #002 – Aug 18th 2018

And that is #parkrunday number 2 done and dusted.

137 people ran, jogged and walked the course, which included “Evil Hill” and “Puddle of Doom”. 274 feet got wet, and 137 faces beamed with the type of smile parkrun tends to make happen :)

78 of you were enjoying Tamworth Wetlands for the first time, including Trevor from Sydney, doing his 254th parkrun! Almost half of the first timers were doing their first ever parkrun - which was fantastic to see!

30 of you beat your time from last week - and was also great to see Reece Whitby MLA taking part - and putting in a strong effort it has to be said!

The event was made possible by 11 high vis heroes, also known as volunteers, and we thank them for that!:

Leisha MCGINNIS • Sarah HACKING • Abdul-Raouf MOHAMED-ISA • Shirley REYNOLDS • Damon PARSONS • Gary WILMOT • Sasha SILK • Margaret VEAL • Michelle BOVILL • Cameron DRAKE • Frances SLABBER

Event #001

A huge thanks to everyone who came down today and made our launch such a roaring success. The weather gods smiled on us, we were blessed with the presence of both Matt Whitfield AND Dolly Parton (well, we are pretty sure it was her), we had visitors from as far as Brisbane and Albury-Wodonga, and those setting up or warming up earlier even got to say “good morning” to several kangaroos :)

278 parkrunners enjoyed a run, jog or walk through the beautiful Tamworth Wetlands reserve. An amazing 51 of them were doing their first ever parkrun!!

Photos are up, results are online and huge thanks to today’s hi-vis army who were:

Jeffrey BREMNER, Joanne CHAMBERLAIN, Sharon CHETWYND, Cameron DRAKE, Sarah HACKING, Cassie HUGHES, Melinda MACFEATE, Angela MURRAY, Julie PARKER, Shaye PETT, Raoul TEMME, Gary WILMOT

Special thanks to Jo who was visiting from Zillmere parkrun in Brisbane - and jumped in with the barcode scanning app when the queue started to build. Gotta love that parkrun community spirit!
