Event number 66 – 8th February 2014

We're well into February now but the numbers keep on rising - 488 runners this week, buoyed by 97 trying South Bank parkrun for the first time.  There were 228 women, 186 men and 74 unknowns (who are presumably kicking themselves for forgetting their barcodes)!
Getting into the spirit

We had no less than 4 runners join the Junior 10 Club:  Danielle Wrigley, Nadia Van Wegen, Hayley Orth and Ben Hamilton.  Congratulations to all of them - the 10 Club certificates will be ready shortly.

92 runners recorded personal bests on the day, including Suzan Anderson who set a new best time in the VW65-69 age category of 29:16.

General News

Another picture perfect South Bank parkrunday! Top marks go to all our runners, to our volunteers and to Tarn and Magnum for a fantastic morning. We had 333 parkrunners today, which makes 3 weeks in a row over 325. Our biggest 3 weeks so far made even better by 61 first timers and 97 PBs!!! Photos this week come from the talented Mr Leon Milts, a recently joined member of the 50 club!

On the parkrun tourist ‘front’ we welcomed Sharon Lawlor from Edinburgh running her 60th parkrun, and a few other tourists from slightly closer to South Bank.

Footy Jersey week

Next week (17 August) we’re joining in the footy fun and encouraging everyone to show their colours and wear their favourite Footy team jersey. The more retro the better! So no matter whether it’s AFL, League, Union or Football (soccer), lets see those colours!

South Bank on Tour

For those of you that feel like trying a new parkrun, on the last Saturday of this month (31 August) we’re going to visit the beautiful Cleveland parkrun. South Bank parkrun will still be held as usual, this is just a chance to go to a different parkrun with a few of your South Bank regulars.
