Shepparton parkrun weekly news – event #317

Leaping lizards!!! What an amazing turnout for a fantastic run on such a special day! Super thanks to Julie and Bron for donating the delicious chocolate frogs we enjoyed afterwards.

Congratulations to the massive amount of personal bests this week – the push for the chocolate was worth it! Thanks to the pacers – that’s a massive 21% of people got a PB this week!

Thanks to everyone for participating in Chelsea's “leap zone” – it sure has made for some entertaining photos this week... just so many good ones.

This week 264 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 17 were first timers and 55 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 7 different clubs took part.

We had tourists this week from Studley parkrun, Darwin parkrun, Broken Hill parkrun, Shellharbour parkrun, Portland parkrun and Wauchope parkrun.

Shepparton parkrunners were spotted: Katherine Hallam at Castlemaine parkrun.

Congratulations to the following milestone achievers:

Christine Trevaskis: 100 Club: 75 at Shepparton parkrun, and 25 at 24 other locations. Since her first parkrun she has reduced her time by 3:16 has had 7 personal bests and has volunteered 13 times.

Anna Turnbull: 50 Club: 47 at Shepparton parkrun and one each at Lorne parkrun, Albert parkrun Melbourne and Wangaratta parkrun. Since her first parkrun she has reduced her time by 2:43, has had 10 personal bests and has volunteered once.

Lily Baragwanath: 50 Club: 7 at Shepparton parkrun and 43 at 31 other locations. Since her first parkrun she has reduced her time by 9:02, has had 6 personal bests, and has volunteered 8 times.

The male record is held by Brady THRELFALL who recorded a time of 14:54 on 27th June 2015 (event number 75).
The female record is held by Tarli BIRD who recorded a time of 16:42 on 3rd December 2016 (event number 148).
The Age Grade course record is held by Annette O'SHEA who recorded 93.71% (19:04) on 29th March 2014 (event number 12).

Shepparton parkrun started on 11th January 2014. Since then 4,176 participants have completed 43,278 parkruns covering a total distance of 216,390 km, including 6,660 new Personal Bests. A total of 476 individuals have volunteered 3,564 times.
