Shepparton parkrun weekly news – Event # 239

A beautiful morning greeted our 159 parkrunners at the start of event #239 of Shepparton parkrun.

Results

As you all now our results get processed by our wonderful volunteers. This week they created a new record by getting the results processed by 9:08am. If you would like to see the results get processed hang around at parkrun and we can show you how easy it is.

You can also join us at Jetjas cafe' in Fryers St after parkrun for a coffee and some breakfast. We can also show you how to process results over a coffee. We also would like to thank Jetjas cafe for their support of our parkrun and their wonderful hospitality.

This week we have visitors from Devenport parkrun Tas. and Cobram parkrun.

We celebrated 2 milestones this week.

100 club

This week we have a personal milestone of 100 parkruns to celebrate.

We would like to congratulate Andrea Scholz

Andrea has run 87 parkruns at Shepparton and 13 parkruns at 8 different parkruns. Andrea, since starting off, has had 23 PB’s and has reduced her time by 11:44.

Andrea has also volunteered 21 times

50 Club

This week we have a personal milestone of 50 parkruns to celebrate.

We would like to congratulate Glenda Wellfare.

Glenda has all 50 of her parkruns here at Shepparton. Of Glenda’s 49 parkruns, 8 have been PB’s. Since her 1st parkrun, Glenda has reduced her time by 3:59 Glenda has volunteered 5 times.

Congratulations Glenda and look forward to you joining the 100 club.

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event 237

Finally we are getting to see the beginnings of Spring at park run. Great conditions found 139 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 24 were first timers and 14 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different clubs took part. There are two milestones coming up. We will soon reach our 5000th PB as well as our 100th first finisher!

We had no known Shepparton park runners participate outside of Shepparton, however we did see an influx of visitors! There were runners from Castlemaine parkrun, Wilson Botanic parkrun, Hastings Foreshore parkrun, Claisebrook Cove parkrun, Mullum Mullum parkrun, Lalor parkrun, Darebin parkrun, Coburg parkrun and Westerfolds parkrun

Shepparton parkrun started on 11th January 2014. Since then 3,056 participants have completed 28,042 parkruns covering a total distance of 140,210 km, including 4,998 new Personal Bests.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday for another amazing parkrun!

We had a few regulars out and about this weekend. Trevor DAINTON completed his first tourist park run at Euroa. Steven HICKS and Steve MONK were seen at Cobram parkrun, while Lee-Anne KIRSCHNER was at Brimbank parkrun.

We also had a tourist from Gardiners Creek parkrun.

This week we have two personal milestones of 50 parkruns to celebrate.
We would like to congratulate Robert Pryde and Julie Murrell.

Robert has completed 47 of his parkruns here at Shepparton and 1 each at 3 different parkruns. Of Robert’s 49 parkruns, 2 have been PB’s. Since his 1st parkrun, Robert has reduced his time by 2:35. Robert has also volunteered twice. Congratulations Robert and look forward to you joining the 100 club.

Julie has completed all 50 of her parkruns here at Shepparton. Of Julie’s 49 parkruns, 7 have been PB’s. Since her 1st parkrun, Julie has reduced her time by 19:03. Julie has volunteered 3 times. Congratulations Julie and look forward to you joining the 100 club.

The sun was out, even if it was briefly! We had our awesome pacers out in force to add to our amazing volunteers this week. Great work to everyone who attended, wether you run, jogged, walked or skipped, it is great to see this active community.

This week 122 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 15 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

This week I think we need acknowledge the marshall at the top of the lake! With the wind coming off the lake, I can only imagine how cold it must have been, yet she was all smiles, giving every participant encouragement as they passed.

We also didn't have a photographer this week, so our photos this week are brought to you by selfies, which made selecting photos for the newsletter very easy.
