Portland parkrun
Event#17
17th Sept 2016

What a contrast in weather condition we had here today in Portland. With flooding across the region and a forced cancelation of our event last week, we were greeted with clear skies and sunshine...

This week there were 46 runners, of whom 3 were first timers and 13 recorded new personal bests. Representatives of 2 different athletic clubs took part.

Great work by RD Vicki Taylor and her crew of awesome volunteers who make parkrun so much fun.

It was Vicki's first time at being RD and she had no problems at all.

Thanks to this week's volunteers
Jacqueline GLOVER • Jodi MAY • Leighann JACKSON • Maddi BLAY • Megan BUNGE • Melissa CONDO • Peter BUNGE • Vicki TAYLOR

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and for those of you with school aged kids, enjoy the start of school holidays.

Until next week, take care.

Happy Running

Portland parkrun event #7 2nd July 2016

Portland parkrun event#7

Was a cool damp morning around the lagoon this morning however the weather couldn't stop the 50 participant and 7 volunteers from enjoying yet another great parkrun event here at Portland.

We had 50 participants, 12 being first timers and 15 PB's achieved.

Well done to Craig Keenan and Michelle Grey for being first finishers today in their respective categories.

Conditions across the rail line section of the course was tough with a slight head wind, some saying it was their quickest section as they wanted to get out of the cold.

Great job to all the volunteers, without you we could not run this event and your efforts are appreciated by everyone.

Cam SMITH, Greg STRADA, Sue McDONALD, Chris KING, Allan HOSKINS, Kellie DAVIS, Kylee McDONALD

See you all next week for event#8

Happy running
