Port Broughton parkrun 127, Feb 27, 2021

It was a gorgeous, glorious morning for a walk or run along the beach this morning. No wind, calm water, tide in but not too high and the sun was shining! We welcomed one brand newy and another first timer and notched up one PB and a 50th run by Nichole YEOWARD so all round it was a great day's work

Port Broughton parkrun 126, Feb 20, 2021

It was nice to wake to a cooler morning after a few stinking hot days to end the week and it was nice conditions out on the course, though I'm told the gentle southerly breeze was cooling on the way out but just felt like it dropped out for the return leg.

We welcomed visitors from Canberra and Gawler today and saw a few good PBs! Well done.

A reminder for anyone willing to help out with the athletics at the Copper Coast Masters games in April to reach out to Gerry VAN NIEKERK one of our regulars who has stepped up to be coordinator for this.

A fresh cool morning greeted our participants this morning. Another week of high tides meant a decent amount of soft sand which is always an extra fun challenge. We were again visited by a number of tourists from other SA parkruns including Port Augusta, Moana and Mawson Lakes, and a number of first timers some of whom had their family support cheer squad along.

Port Broughton parkrun 124, Feb 6, 2021 THIRD ANNIVERSARY

We had our third anniversary today on a particularly dreary damp drizzly day but still had a turnout of around 25. We got a bit wet at the start but it did blow past and the breeze was warm enough to dry everyone out! We welcomed visitors from Pt Augusta, Newcastle, Adelaide and Pt Lincoln as well as a few first-timers. The wind kept the tide higher than expected but combined with the rain made for a fairly solid surface apart from being a bit squishy in places.

The results processing system has a dose of the yips so the usual run report is not yet available and emails and online results are not yet through. This report will be updated later when this is available!

Port Broughton parkrun 123, January 30th, 2021

It was beautiful weather for this morning's outing, temp in the upper teens, no rain and a cooling breeze on the way out which became a nice gentle tail wind on the way back. The tide was the highest we've had for a while necessitating some bush-bashing across the flats and in front of the storm drain at the caravan park on the way back with the tide having snuck in to cover the usual path. As a result, the course was a little softer than it sometimes is.

We welcomed visitors from Pakapakanthi and Lochiel this morning as well as some new folk from town on their first outing. We look forward to seeing you back!

It was wonderful to help celebrate two of our regulars reaching their (COVID-delayed) 50th milestone today. Craig JENKIN is our ever friendly enthusiastic participant who is always willing to help out and is likely to have made himself known to any newcomers or visitors each and every week. Melissa DAVIS has hit a few health hurdles on her journey to 50 and has shown so much grit and determination getting to this milestone it is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Congratulations to you both!

Remember that next week will be our 3rd anniversary run! We have no particular theme but if you are inclined to fancy dress- feel free to let your hair down!
