Today's event is cancelled due to hazardous air quality
Usually Penrith Lakes hosts the local Christmas Day parkrun event, but this year they are unable to so Nepean River will instead. Christmas Day parkrun starts at the usual parkrun time of 8:00am (first timer's briefing at 7:45, everyone briefing at 7:55). Parking is available at the boat ramp car park or along Tench Avenue. Please don't park behind the cafes as those spots are for customers only.
If you are visiting us for Christmas and haven't been to Nepean River parkrun for a while, please note, our start line has moved to the grassy area next to the playground opposite Coffee Club on Tench Reserve (coordinates -33.762113, 150.664009 on Google Maps).
Happy Holidays and we hope to see you there!
Event Director, Nepean River parkrun
To start 2019 off in the best way possible, we'll be running an extra parkrun on Tuesday 1st January at 8am.
To participate, all you need to do is turn up at 7.45am for the briefing, along with your barcode (as per usual).
And if that's not enough for you, once you've completed the run at Nepean River, you can safely travel over to Penrith Lakes to complete a parkrun there at 9.30am - thereby achieving the prestigious "New Year's Day Double". NYD is only day of the year where completing two parkruns on one day is allowed, and both officially count towards your tally.
Please note: if you have completed the New Year's Day Double at Penrith in the past two years, the 2019 event order is DIFFERENT, with Nepean River going first at 8am.
If you'd like to volunteer at our NYD event, please contact us via email at email@example.com or send us a message via Facebook.
Nepean River parkrun's 2nd anniversary is happening on 10 November, 2018. We will start a bit earlier than usual as there will be awards prior to our regular start time. Please arrive at 7:30am. Parking is available at Cables Wake Park, and we will be meeting at our start line on the shared path near Cables' driveway on Jamison Road. Cake and other treats will be available after you cross the finish line.
This years theme is pyjamas, but you don't have to dress up if you don't want to.
For more information, here is our anniversary event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/291487468333713/
We hope to see you there!
We are very fortunate that Cables Wake Park lets us use their parking lot every Saturday morning. We used to enter from the Panthers complex, but that is now blocked off. To get to Cables' parking lot, you need to enter via their driveway on Jamison Road, near Blakie Road. Our start line is a very short walk to the west from Cables' carpark, on the shared path that runs along Jamison Road. Look for the parkrun flag and the large tree.
We hope to see you there!
