Cancellation – 2 August

Just a reminder, we run every Saturday - rain, hail or shine - at 7am except for Sat 2 August when we will be cancelled due to another event in the park.

Everyone is welcome at all other Brisbane parkruns - Bunyaville, Sandgate, New Farm, South Bank and North Lakes are all about 5-30 mins from Mitchy so why not check them out instead!

HELP!! We need first timers!!

Boost parkrun

HELP!! We are searching for all parkrunners registered with Mitchelton parkrun who are yet to join us for a run or walk on a Saturday.

We have over 900 people registered with Mitchelton parkrun!! But there are 50-100 of you who haven't actually come and run or walked with us yet. We are searching desperately for you and this Saturday is the day for you! We need as many genuine first timers as we can to win a $1,000 party from adidas!

Get all your family, friends, neighbours & work mates to register then bring them along to Mitchelton parkrun this Saturday at 7am. Friends new to parkrun can register at


Mitchelton parkrun cancelled – Saturday 3 August


Due to The Bridge Marathon event ( on our course this Saturday, there will be no Mitchelton parkrun held on Saturday 3rd August. Normal service will resume at Mitchelton the following week (Sat 10th August).

The good news is that this weekend is Mitchelton tourist week at all parkruns. You are welcome to attend other local parkrun event like South Bank or North Lakes. If you feel like a drive Coomera are celebrating their first anniversary.  So why not use this opportunity to take part in some parkrun tourism?!

RESULTS WRAP-UP - 27th July 2013
Men's placings:
Jeremy SOLLEY (JM15-19) (Unattached) was first over the line in 18:20 - second time in 4 appearances.
Zachary LEAN (JM14) (Unattached) was second over the line in 19:41.
John DENTON (VM40-44) (Unattached) was third over the line in 20:01.

Current standing in the Men's annual points competition:
Tony HUTCHINS (Unattached) 656 pts.
Tim GEPP (Unattached) 627 pts.
Ian UHR (Unattached) 507 pts.

Women's placings:
Shiloh WATTS (SW30-34) of Ashgrove Rangers AC, was first (5th overall) over the line in 20:28 - first time in 5 appearances.
Lauren SCOFIELD (JW14) of Ashgrove Rangers AC, was second (9th overall) over the line in 21:37.
Lucy CARVALHO (VW40-44) of The Run Inn Brisbane, was third (13th overall) over the line in 22:19 - was first to finish once before.

Current standing in the Women's annual points competition:
Jane SHEA (South Pine Striders) 591 pts.
Jodie Ann MURRAY (Intraining) 578 pts.
Sarah HAWORTH (Unattached) 556 pts.

The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores:
Jeremy SOLLEY (JM15-19) was graded 75.91% for the time 18:20 (first overall).
Brooklyn DENTON (JW14) was graded 75.07% for the time 22:44 (17th overall).
Lauren SCOFIELD (JW14) was graded 73.86% for the time 21:37 (9th overall).

This week there were 141 runners, of whom 44 were first timers and 43 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different athletics clubs took part.

Mitchelton parkrun started on 8th June 2013, and since then 425 different runners, including participants from 19 athletics clubs, have completed 900 runs covering a total distance of 4,500 km, and there have been 195 new Personal Bests.

The Women's course record is held by Sharyn MADDERS who ran in a time of 19:26 on 8th June 2013 (event number 1).
The Men's course record is held by Greg WEBSTER who ran in a time of 17:30 on 8th June 2013 (event number 1).
The Age Grade course record is held by Francis T MAHONY who recorded a 83.36% run (17:50) on 20th July 2013 (event number 7).
