Course change – 1st Feb 2020

Big news! We are on the move on 1st Feb!

Wait? what?

Yes - Mitchelton parkrun is moving! Not far - but we are moving a little down the bikeway - from the 1st Feb 2020 - the start finish line will be behind field 8 and 9 of the Mitchelton Football Club. This will allow us to have a smoother finish line and be able to start off the bikeway. The turn around will be past the 2nd bridge (we currently turn around before we get that far)

The Mitchelton Football Club will be allowing us to store our equipment, opening toilet facilites and will also be opening the cafe for us - so if you are keen for a post parkrun coffee or snack - then they will be there!

Mitchelton parkrun Run Report – Event #85

What an action packed morning! Thank you to the wonderful people that gave up their time to bring you your weekly parkrun fix - Geoffrey Benn, Patrick Maguire, Kathleen Maguire, Monika Armstrong, Emma Turner, Katherine El Banna and Amanda Sheriff. PLUS our fabulous pacers who helped many of you reach a PB today - Greg Webster, Stephen Anderson, James Currie, Ryan Jackman, Kim Bertwistle, Mark Bert...istle and Jason Hill. We had 59 PBs in total out of a near-record attendance of 326 parkrunners this morning. WOW! Congratulations to our first finishers - Jack Taylor (18:45) and Shiloh Watts (20:42) and to everyone who joined us for a run or walk.

Ok, that's the nice bit done, now for the not-so-nice bit. There were two issues today that we need to remind you of. Today, a junior had a fall on course and injured himself. A huge thanks go to the three parkrunners who selflessly gave up their runs to help him - Jo Moon, Rhiannon Armstrong and Neil MacDonald. You are LEGENDS! Please remember, you are responsible for your juniors on course. If they injure themselves, you need to take responsibility for them. Secondly, please do not park in the 'no parking' zone near the start line to our event. Three cars parked there this morning and blocked traffic coming into the football club. They were rightly cranky as it's sign on day down there, so there was lots of traffic around.

As always, it was a pleasure to see you all this morning and we look forward to seeing you all again next Saturday. Enjoy your week.
