International Women’s Day parkrun – 7th March 2020

parkrun research tells us that women are much less likely to participate in parkrun, and parkrun is taking steps to change that.
As part of these efforts parkrun is organising a global female-focused parkrun celebration on Saturday 7 March 2020, the day before International Women’s Day (IWD).
We would love for our parkrun community to join parkruns worldwide in a celebration of female participation on this day.
To mark the occasion we are encouraging existing parkrunners to bring along a female friend, family member or a work colleague, especially one who has never been to parkrun before.
If you wish you may also dress in purple (parkrun's chosen colour for the day, and the official colour of IWD).

Fluoro Fun parkrun – 6th Anniversary event

On 28th September 2019 Merimbula parkrun is celebrating our 6th Anniversary, after commencing on 28th September 2013.

To help us celebrate this milestone parkrunners voted via a Facebook poll to have a 'Fluoro Fun' theme.

So if you are volunteering, running or walking on 28th September we invite you to dress in fluoro colours, as much or as little as you like - let's have some fun!

And if you don't feel like wearing fluoro, we'd still love to see you!

We hope you (and your printed barcode) can join us - first timer briefing at 7:50, full briefing at 7:55, and we’re go promptly at 8:00.

Merimbula parkrun’s 300th Event – 6th July 2019

Merimbula parkrun hits another major milestone on 6th July, holding our 300th event.

To mark the day and celebrate all that is wonderful about parkrun we invite everybody taking part to wear a parkrun milestone shirt or parkrun apricot shirt (if you have one), or any running shirt that reminds you of a personal running milestone or achievement.

Junior-powered parkrun – 05/05/18

On 5th May we are holding another junior-powered parkrun event, where we will fill all of our volunteer roles with our junior parkrunners and let them show us how easy and fun volunteering can be :)

We'll have some supervising adults on hand, but otherwise the event is theirs!

Time: 4:00pm onwards

Where: Merimbula Aquarium and Wharf Restaurant

Who: parkrunners, volunteers, family, friends and supporters

What: Relax and chill-out for the afternoon with great views and company.

Tickets: Tickets may only be purchased at The Wharf. No tickets will be sold or money collected at parkrun.

Advance purchase during November (from Wharf):

  • $20 includes 2 drinks + canapés + aquarium entry
  • $5 (4-14 years) includes 1 softdrink + 1 icecream + nibbles + aquarium entry

At door:

Celebrating our 4th Anniversary

On Saturday 23 September we are celebrating our 4th anniversary at Merimbula parkrun!

Whether it's your 1st or 100+ time, grab a friend and join us for a run, walk or jog to celebrate.

And for those that like to dress-up we are having a 'flower' theme, given that the 4th anniversary traditional gift is flowers.

After the run we invite everyone to enjoy a parkrun picnic.  Feel free to bring a share plate for the picnic table.

 

3rd Anniversary Celebration

We're excited to be celebrating Merimbula parkrun's 3rd Anniverasry on 24th September 2016 and think it's the perfect time for all our parkrunners to reflect on and celebrate their personal running or walking achievements.
That's why we invite every one taking part in the 3rd anniversary event to wear something that celebrates a personal running (or walking) achievement. This might be your parkrun milestone shirt, your parkrunner of the month singlet or keyring, a favourite or lucky running outfit or item, event merchandise, finisher shirt, club shirt... whatever reminds you of a special run/walk or running achievement.
We hope to see you there!

 

Upcoming Event: Celebrating Mums and Naked parkrun

It's all happening this Saturday 7th May!

In honour of all the lovely parkrunning Mums out there we will be awarding some lovely lucky runner prizes to a couple of our parkrunning Mums, we'll also be announcing the parkrunner of the month for April, and it's also 'Naked parkrun'.

For Naked parkrun we invite you to run gadget-free and run without distraction. Those choosing to run naked are invited to predict their time in advance on the record sheets provided on day. Closest to their predicted time will win a special prize.
