International Women’s Day parkrun – 7th March 2020

parkrun research tells us that women are much less likely to participate in parkrun, and parkrun is taking steps to change that.
As part of these efforts parkrun is organising a global female-focused parkrun celebration on Saturday 7 March 2020, the day before International Women’s Day (IWD).
We would love for our parkrun community to join parkruns worldwide in a celebration of female participation on this day.
To mark the occasion we are encouraging existing parkrunners to bring along a female friend, family member or a work colleague, especially one who has never been to parkrun before.
If you wish you may also dress in purple (parkrun's chosen colour for the day, and the official colour of IWD).

As many of you are aware, the southerlies this evening 10th January 2020 have moved in bringing the smoke from the Border Fire back to Merimbula.

At this stage we haven’t cancelled tomorrow’s event, though ED Donella and RD Kirsty are closely monitoring conditions and will make final decision at approximately 6:30 AM if we will go ahead or not.

Please revisit the website or our Facebook page in the morning for an update.

Thanks for your understanding and until then, take care and be safe.

Join the core team

Do you love Merimbula parkrun and love volunteering?

We are looking for 1 or 2 Merimbula parkrunners to join the awesome bunch of people who make up the core team and train as a Run Director (RD).

RD's are usually rostered every 5 - 8 weeks and take charge of a particular event, performing tasks like setting up, briefings, results.

If you are interested in finding out more, plaese send us an email or have a chat at parkrun to the RD on duty or Donella (Event Director).

Events during Christmas and New Year Period

Merimbula parkrun does not hold additional events on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.  This is to minimise the inconvenience our event has on others who use the shared path during the peak holiday period

Australian parkrun events staging additional events on these days are published here.
