Christmas 2017 / New Year’s Day 2018 Arrangements

We'll be having a normal 8:00am (7:50am pre-run briefing) parkrun at Maribyrnong every Saturday in December and January, including December 23 and December 30.

We're not having a parkrun on Christmas Day at Maribyrnong, but if you'd like some Christmas Day parkrun action, Albert (Melbourne), Balyang Sanctuary, Coburg, Darebin, Highlands, Lillydale Lake, Studley, Westerfolds and Wyndham Vale parkruns will all be holding runs.

We will be having a special New Year's Day 2018 parkrun at Maribyrnong on Monday, January 1, starting at the special time of 9:30am (9:20am for the pre-run briefing). As this is a 9:30am start, you've got the option of 'doing the double' by also doing an 8:00am parkrun at another location such as Coburg or Westerfolds.

In short, at Maribyrnong it's:

  • every Saturday, as normal
  • plus New Year's Day at 9:30am (9:20am pre-run briefing)

You can check out the Christmas Day and New Year's Day parkrun arrangements across Australia in the parkrun Christmas Compendium.

Maribyrnong parkrun CANCELLED (02/12/2017)

Maribyrnong parkrun will be CANCELLED this week (Sat 2nd) due to the expected large volume of rainfall and severe risk of flooding on our course.

This decision has been made to ensure the safety of volunteers and participants and is final. Please do not attend Maribyrnong parkrun this week.

Take care this weekend in the bad weather. We hope to be back in action on the 9th December.

With a forecast 25-70mm of rain fall tomorrow and a further 30-80mm on Saturday there’s a high chance of severe flooding on our course and that our event may be cancelled. Please keep tuned to the Maribyrnong parkrun Facebook page tomorrow and Saturday for updates.

With our 3rd anniversary now only 3 days away, here's a look at who recorded the most PBs during our 3rd year at Maribyrnong.

Volunteers (3rd Year)

Milestone T-Shirt Update (June 2017)

parkrun have provided an update on the next batch of milestone t-shirts:

Milestone t-shirt update

The latest batch of milestone t-shirts is nearly with us. We know some of you have been waiting a while to receive yours, so we wanted to let you know how the process will work.

Around 23,000 new milestone t-shirts will arrive in port later this week. They need to clear customs and be sent to Wiggle, where they will be checked and loaded onto their stock system. We expect the t-shirts will be available from mid-July.

All claim links will first be reset, then those parkrunners who have been waiting the longest will have their links activated. Links will then be activated in incremental batches.

We will post another update 24 hours before we start to activate the links.

Milestone t-shirts are claimed via the ‘club progress’ link on your ‘profile’ section when you log in at You can also access this page using the ‘My Profile’ link in the email newsletters.

Thanks for your patience. We can’t wait to see another 23,000 well-deserved white, red, black, green, blue and aubergine milestone t-shirts parkrunning across the country very soon!
