manjimup parkrun #105

10000. The number of elephants left in the wild. The number of days it takes to get to the moon. The circumference of a big pumpkin. THE NUMBER OF KILOMETRES WE HAVE RUN! Graeme was our 2000th registered finisher today, bringing up our 10000k (and a pb) in style dressed in workboots and pushing a pram. Thanks for stealing the stat I've waited two years for Graeme.

What's Hot

  • Rylie scamming $20 from his Dad. Huge smackdown from the young fella, I smell a few age group records before this young bloke is done.
  • Joel is back from injury. Cruised around to a mid 19 first finish. Highest age grading for the day. The honeymoon is over Cam.
  • Three first timers , James , Lorna and Kira. Well done guys.
  • Ambrose , Ben and Finn with pb's.

What's Not

  • Falling over :(
  • Not mentioning Jodies age group record last week.
  • Forgetting the run report last week, which was our birthday!

Great work today team, good to see about two hundred kids coming along to use all the chalk. Feel free to extend the what's hot/not list in the comments.

Now, who wants to timekeep next week?

Manjimup parkrun event 31 – 25th October

We had 17 participants today at King Jarrah and great to welcome our visitors the Bishops (Clinton, Tracy and Abbey) from Perth and Faye Pratt from Victoria. Also a special welcome to first timer Denise Blakers and hope to see you again soon.

There where a number of new PB's today. Glen Booth ran a new PB (19.34) and he keeps chipping away at his time almost on a weekly basis.  Other to record new PBs where locals Kathryn Rosinski, Anne Trent and visitors Clinton and Tracey Bishop.

Two of our juniors were presented with their 10th run certificate this morning. All juniors receive this award on completing 10 runs. All parkrun participants get a T Shirt on completing 50 runs and then 100 runs.  Something to work towards. The T shirt is suitably marked to record your achievement and it is also FREE. It was terrific to present the certificates to Cameran Whelan who has completed 19 runs and Josie Trent. Josie was a volunteer today.  Aled Phillip Johns has also achieved this milestone having completed 12 runs and we will present his certificate when we next see him at parkrun.

Thanks to our volunteers Jan Candy (Run Director) along with Mark Sewell, Josie Trent and Russell Candy. Don't forget you get 100 points to volunteer (up to three times a year), and this can boost your points total.
