Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #316

The mornings are starting to get cooler. That and the local Warburton Trail Fest kept the numbers down a little, however 182 parkrunners still turned up to share what was a wonderful day to get 5k in.

Awesome achievements: Congratulations to everyone who managed a new Personal Best time this week, with a special shout-out to anyone who has already completed more than 30 local events (10 for juniors):

  • Jay Border, VM35-39 (73 parkruns/70 Local): With a 2nd PB in a row and 3rd in 5 weeks, Jay took a massive 58 seconds off her previous best for a new time of 22:27
  • Julie Stephens, VM50-54 (89 parkruns/86 Local): With a 2nd PB in a row and 3rd in 5 weeks (has Julie been running with Jay), Julie reduced her PB by 10 seconds for a new time of 26:22
  • Peter Horsley, VM40-44 (91 parkruns/73 Local): Peter took an impressive 28 seconds off his PB to record a new time of 23:05
  • Sven Melzer, VM40-44 (107 parkruns/106 Local): With his 3rd PB in a row, Sven set a new time of 22:10 beating his previous by 16 seconds

Lillydale Lake parkrun started on 26th April 2014. Since then 6,023 participants have completed 53,373 parkruns covering a total distance of 266,865 km, including 8,239 new Personal Bests. A total of 551 individuals have volunteered 3,800 times.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #315

The weather was perfect this week with 226 people joining us for a couple laps of Lillydale Lake, including 25 first timers.

Awesome achievements: What a HUGE week, congratulations to everyone who managed a new Personal Best time this week (all 53 of you!!!), with a special shout-out to anyone who has already completed more than 30 local events (10 for juniors):

  • Rob Petrie, VM50-54 (161 parkruns): taking an impressive 2 seconds off his previous best time set a few weeks ago, giving him a new time to beat of 17:53.
  • Nikki Raisbeck, VW50-54 (147 parkruns): taking an impressive 1:41 off her previous best time, she now has a new time to beat of 24:35.
  • Emmanouel Hatzimaniolis, V50-54 (146 parkruns): taking 1 second off his previous best time, he now has a new time to beat of 22:41.
  • Sven Melzer, VM40-44 (106 parkruns): taking an impressive 40 seconds off his previous best time set last week, he now has a new time to beat of 22:26.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #314

209 people were glad to be out at another Saturday parkrun. Muggy conditions didn’t deter 20 people from achieving PB's or the 19 first timers and tourists including from Hastings, Highlands, Inverloch and Wyndham Vale parkruns.

Milestones: This week there were no new members to the elite parkrun milestones clubs.

Another Saturday of great running and walking conditions brought 271 people out for our 3rd parkrun of the year. This week 24 people achieved PB's and we welcomed 27 first timers and tourists including from Westerfolds, Albert Park and Phillip Island.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • Henry Martin (50 parkruns) – Henry first ran with us in July 2017 with a time of 22:36 and set a new PB last week with a new time to beat of 17:01! Well done Henry!
  • Bradley Somers (50 parkruns) – Bradley first ran with us in November 2017 with a time of 27:35 and has a current PB of 23:23. Bradley has volunteered 3 times. Congratulations Bradley!

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #311

This week's glorious weather was quite a contrast to last week and an excited 234 people ran, walked, jogged or danced their way around two laps of the lake in the sun shine. This week 24 people achieved PB's, we welcomed 27 first timers and tourists from around Victoria.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • William Hobson (10 junior parkruns) - William first ran with us in December 2018 with a time of 47:54, and has a current PB of 37:13 (an impressive improvement of 10:41). Well done William!
  • Damien Gardner (100 parkruns) - Damien has run 70 runs with us at Lillydale Lake. Damien first ran with us in July 2016 with a time of 20:46 and has since improved his PB by just over 2 minutes for a current PB of 18:45. Damien has also volunteered 4 times. Well Done Damien!
  • Debbie Woods (250 parkruns) - Debbie has run an incredible 248 runs at Lillydale Lake, first running with us in May 2014 with a time of 27:52. Debbie has volunteered 12 times and has a current PB of 25:51! Congratulations Debbie!
  • Stephen Corner (250 parkruns) - Stephen has run 163 of his runs at Lillydale Lake, first running with us in our first event back in April 2014 with a time of 21:17. Stephen has volunteered an incredible 38 times and has a current PB of 20:30! Congratulations Stephen!

Neither the cold weather nor the rain put a halt to the parkrun restart. And 137 excited parkrunners turned up to enjoy the occasion.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #309

A slightly smaller group, but no less enthusiastic, started the weekend with 2 laps of the lake. A shout-out and welcome to all first-timers and a special welcome to our tourists from Diamond Creek, Gardners Creek, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • Louisa Inglese (10 junior parkruns) - Louisa has run all 10 runs at Lillydale Lake. She first ran with us in October 2019 with a time of 28:06, running a PB on her 10th run for a current PB of 23:30 (an improvement of 4:36). Congratulations Louisa!

  • Michelle Connelly (50 parkruns) - Michelle also has run all her 50 runs with us at Lillydale Lake. Michelle first ran with us in July 2018 with a time of 41:53 and has since improved her PB by 2 minutes for a current PB of 39:53. Michelle has also volunteered 3 times. Well Done Michelle!

The weekly Stats Report: Lillydale Lake parkrun started on 26th April 2014. Since then 5,879 participants have completed 51,871 parkruns covering a total distance of 259,355 km, including 8,050 new Personal Bests. A total of 540 individuals have volunteered 3,686 times. This week 229 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers and 35 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 18 different clubs took part.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #308

A fabulous start to our Saturday in celebration of International Women’s day, as 273 parkrunners in a sea of purple enjoying the glorious weather and a couple laps of the lake. A shout-out and welcome to all first-timers (all 28 of you), with special welcome to our tourists from Rosebud, Warragul, Canberra, Queensland and the United Kingdom.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • Rachael Marriott (10 junior parkruns) - Rachael has run 7 times at Lillydale Lake, touristing to Newborough, Birdsland Reserve and Launceston (TAS). She first ran with us in January 2017 with a time of 53:46, running a PB on her 10th run for a current PB of 43:47 (an improvement of 9:59). Congratulations Rachael!

  • Sam Thomas (50 parkruns) - Sam first ran with us in January 2016 with a time of 27:09, since then he has improved his PB by 3:06 for a current PB of 24:03. He has run at Lillydale Lake 39 times, including tourist visits to Port Fairy x4, Bairnsdale, Hamilton, Frog Hollow, Warnambool, Largs Bay (SA), Reynella East (SA) and Woodbridge Riverside (WA). Congratulations Sam!

  • Robert Henderson (100 parkruns) - Robert has run 84 times at Lillydale Lake first running with us in December 2016 with a time of 25:40. Since then he has improved his PB by 2:01 for a current PB of 23:39, as well as tourist visits to Mullum Mullum x9, Jells x6 and Gardiner's Creek. Congratulations Robert!

Parkrunner of the Month:

Our PROTM (parkrunner of the month) award for January was presented to Adele Sutters. In January Adele completed 3 parkruns and volunteered twice. Congratulations Adele!

Our PROTM (parkrunner of the month) award for February was presented to Callum Williams. In February Callum ran four times, volunteered once and achieved his 10th PB. Congratulations Callum!

Super Saturday: The first Saturday of the month is when we have volunteer pacers who don our time vests and run a nominated pace to help those with a particular time goal. Thanks this month go to Alan Harris, Graham Coutts, Craig Brydon, Robert Twisk, Stephen Young, Des Keuken, Stuart Kingma, David Gorman, and Maria Twisk. 

Awesome achievements: Congratulations to everyone who managed a new Personal Best time this week, with a special shout-out to anyone who has already completed more than 30 local events (10 for juniors):

  • Louise Inglese, JW11-14 (10 parkruns / 10 local): Louisa first ran with us in October 2019 with a time of 28:06, since then she has had 4 PBs, with a current best time of 23:30. Well done Louise!
  • Emma Stoddard, VW35-39 (160 parkruns / 74 local): Emma first ran with us in May 2017 with a time of 30:37, since then she has 11 PBs, with a current best time of 24:17. Well done Emma!

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #306

The drizzly weather deterred some people with a drop from last weeks record turn out but still 272 people turned up this week. Taking advantage of the cooler conditions an impressive 48 people achieved PB's and despite the weather we welcomed 21 first timers.

Congratulations to our newest recruits to the parkrun milestone clubs:

Elliot Stott: (10 junior parkruns) Elliot ran her first parkrun with us in May 2019. Since then she has run 9 times at Lillydale Lake and once at Rosebud. She has had 2 PBs, taking 5:51 off her first run for a current PB of 35:59.

David Pritchard: (50 parkruns) David ran his first parkrun with us in May 2014. Since then he has run 45 times at Lillydale Lake, twice at Echuca Moama and once each at Cobram, Bright and Philip Island. He has run 7 PBs taking 5:30 off his first run for a current PB of 26:29.

Sharon White: (50 parkruns) Sharon ran her first parkrun with us in June 2018. Since then she has run 49 times at Lillydale Lake and once at Wangaratta. She has had 7 Pbs taking 7:26 off her first run for a current PB of 33:49
