Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #320

What a pearler of an Easter Saturday. Sunrise not long before we started with the sun just peeking over the trees as the fastest crossed the finish line. Perfect weather, perfect parkrun and 226 parkrunners turned up to get 5k in.

Awesome achievements: Congratulations to everyone who managed a new Personal Best time this week, with a special shout-out to anyone who has already completed more than 30 local events (10 for juniors):

  • John Pavic, JM11-14 (20 parkruns/20 Local - Junior): With a 2nd PB in a row John knocked 37 seconds off his previous best for a new time of 23:57
  • Robert Pavic, JM11-14 (21 parkruns/21 Local - Junior): Not to be outdone Robert, also with a 2nd PB in a row, sliced an impressive 58 seconds off for a new time of 23:30
  • Stuart Richards, VM50-54 (54 parkruns/52 Local): Must be the day for 2nd consecutive PB’s. Stuart took 10 seconds off his already impressive PB to record a new time of 20:57
  • Alan Zubek, VM70-74 (71 parkruns/65 Local): With his best time since 2019, Alan improved his mark by 12 seconds setting a new PB of 24:47
  • Jay Border, VM35-39 (75 parkruns/72 Local): 4 PB’s in 7 weeks. Wow. Even more impressive is the 1 min 5 second improvement to set a new time of 21:22
  • Don Wallace, VM75-79 (79 parkruns/75 Local): Another one with a first PB since 2019, Don recorded a 12 second improvement for a time of 44:58

Lilydale Lake parkrun – Event #319

It was a wet and soggy morning but that didn’t dampen the spirits of our newest Run Director, Sally.
Sally has been waiting in the wings while Covid, and then Melbourne’s snap lockdown has delayed her Run Directing debut but we are excited that she finally got her time to shine and we are grateful to have her as part of the team.

It was also a special day for Laura Gorton, who joined us for parkrun before she was off to get married later in the day! We hope the weather improved for the wedding!

  • Stuart Richards (52 parkruns, 42 at Lillydale Lake)-Stuart took 5 seconds off his time to set a new PB of 21:07
  • Stephen Moir (31 parkruns, 30 at Lillydale Lake)-Stephen took 6 seconds off his PB set last month to have a new goal time of 24:07
  • Rukiya Sunderland (17parkruns, 14 at Lillydale Lake) Rukiya took another 2 seconds off her PB from last week, setting a new time to beat of 27:07

It was very pleasant running conditions this week at Lillydale Lake where 232 people ran, jogged and walked their way around the two laps of the lake. There were an incredible 33 first timers and representatives from 20 different clubs took part.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #316

The mornings are starting to get cooler. That and the local Warburton Trail Fest kept the numbers down a little, however 182 parkrunners still turned up to share what was a wonderful day to get 5k in.

  • Jay Border, VM35-39 (73 parkruns/70 Local): With a 2nd PB in a row and 3rd in 5 weeks, Jay took a massive 58 seconds off her previous best for a new time of 22:27
  • Julie Stephens, VM50-54 (89 parkruns/86 Local): With a 2nd PB in a row and 3rd in 5 weeks (has Julie been running with Jay), Julie reduced her PB by 10 seconds for a new time of 26:22
  • Peter Horsley, VM40-44 (91 parkruns/73 Local): Peter took an impressive 28 seconds off his PB to record a new time of 23:05
  • Sven Melzer, VM40-44 (107 parkruns/106 Local): With his 3rd PB in a row, Sven set a new time of 22:10 beating his previous by 16 seconds

The weather was perfect this week with 226 people joining us for a couple laps of Lillydale Lake, including 25 first timers.

  • Rob Petrie, VM50-54 (161 parkruns): taking an impressive 2 seconds off his previous best time set a few weeks ago, giving him a new time to beat of 17:53.
  • Nikki Raisbeck, VW50-54 (147 parkruns): taking an impressive 1:41 off her previous best time, she now has a new time to beat of 24:35.
  • Emmanouel Hatzimaniolis, V50-54 (146 parkruns): taking 1 second off his previous best time, he now has a new time to beat of 22:41.
  • Sven Melzer, VM40-44 (106 parkruns): taking an impressive 40 seconds off his previous best time set last week, he now has a new time to beat of 22:26.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #314

209 people were glad to be out at another Saturday parkrun. Muggy conditions didn’t deter 20 people from achieving PB's or the 19 first timers and tourists including from Hastings, Highlands, Inverloch and Wyndham Vale parkruns.

Milestones: This week there were no new members to the elite parkrun milestones clubs.

Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #312

Another Saturday of great running and walking conditions brought 271 people out for our 3rd parkrun of the year. This week 24 people achieved PB's and we welcomed 27 first timers and tourists including from Westerfolds, Albert Park and Phillip Island.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • Henry Martin (50 parkruns) – Henry first ran with us in July 2017 with a time of 22:36 and set a new PB last week with a new time to beat of 17:01! Well done Henry!
  • Bradley Somers (50 parkruns) – Bradley first ran with us in November 2017 with a time of 27:35 and has a current PB of 23:23. Bradley has volunteered 3 times. Congratulations Bradley!
  • Jerome Koole (50 parkruns) – Jerome first ran with us in December 2017 with a time of 35:26 and has a current PB of 24:26 (an impressive improvement of 11 minutes). Jerome has volunteered 4 times. Congratulations Jerome!
  • Claire Theile (100 parkruns) – Lillydale Lake isn’t Claires local parkrun as she has run at an incredible 86 different events but we are thrilled she chose Lillydale Lake parkrun to run at a 2nd time for her 100th run. Well done Claire!

Awesome achievements: Congratulations to everyone who managed a new Personal Best time this week, with a special shout-out to anyone who has already completed more than 30 local events (10 for juniors):

  • John Baro, VM40-44 (38 parkruns): taking 10 seconds off his previous best, he has a new time to beat of 21:15.
  • Jay Border, VM35-39 (69 parkruns): taking 1 second off his previous best time, he now has a new time to beat of 23:59.
  • Bernd Becker, VM60-64 (84 parkruns): taking 11 seconds off his previous best (only set last week) he has now set a new time to beat of 22:52.
  • Hamish De Wit,  JM15-17 (16 parkruns): taking 1:09 seconds off his previous best, he has a new time to beat of 21:09
  • Clare Hale, JW10 (35 parkruns): taking 1:48 seconds off her previous best, she has a new time to beat of 25:50

Lillydale Lake parkrun started on 26th April 2014. Since then 5,912 participants have completed 52,242 parkruns covering a total distance of 261,210 km, including 8,091 new Personal Bests. A total of 541 individuals have volunteered 3,718 times.

This week 271 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 27 were first timers and 24 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 18 different clubs took part. Lillydale Lake parkrun – Event #311

This week's glorious weather was quite a contrast to last week and an excited 234 people ran, walked, jogged or danced their way around two laps of the lake in the sun shine. This week 24 people achieved PB's, we welcomed 27 first timers and tourists from around Victoria.

Milestones: Congratulations to our latest member of the elite parkrun milestones clubs:

  • William Hobson (10 junior parkruns) - William first ran with us in December 2018 with a time of 47:54, and has a current PB of 37:13 (an impressive improvement of 10:41). Well done William!
  • Damien Gardner (100 parkruns) - Damien has run 70 runs with us at Lillydale Lake. Damien first ran with us in July 2016 with a time of 20:46 and has since improved his PB by just over 2 minutes for a current PB of 18:45. Damien has also volunteered 4 times. Well Done Damien!
  • Debbie Woods (250 parkruns) - Debbie has run an incredible 248 runs at Lillydale Lake, first running with us in May 2014 with a time of 27:52. Debbie has volunteered 12 times and has a current PB of 25:51! Congratulations Debbie!
  • Stephen Corner (250 parkruns) - Stephen has run 163 of his runs at Lillydale Lake, first running with us in our first event back in April 2014 with a time of 21:17. Stephen has volunteered an incredible 38 times and has a current PB of 20:30! Congratulations Stephen!
