Christmas and New Years at Kirra parkrun

Amended times (current as of 15/10/17)

Kirra parkrun will not be holding a special parkrun on Christmas Day.

On New Years Day, Kirra parkrun will be teaming up with Kingscliff parkrun to offer the Great Southern Gold Coast Double parkrun.  Kingscliff parkrun will be running at the usual time of 8:00am DST (7:00am EST), and Kirra parkrun will be held an hour and a half later than usual at 8:30am EST (9:30am DST).

These times are to allow as many parkrunners as possible to do the double safely with consideration to travel time between the two events.  New Years Day is the only day that parkrun will allow two parkruns to be recorded in one day.

Please drive safely between events and obey all road rules.

NOTE: Kirra parkrun is located in Queensland and operates on Eastern Standard Time (EST).  Kingscliff parkrun is in New South Wales and operates on Daylight Saving Time (DST).

We wish you and your families all the very best for the festive season, and a happy and prosperous 2020.

Cancellation of Kirra parkrun – 25th March and 1st April 2017

Due to the Australian Surf Life Saving Titles being held at North Kirra, Bilinga and Tugun between 25th March and 2nd April 2017, Kirra parkrun is cancelled on 25th March and 1st April 2017.

This decision has been made after conducting a thorough safety assessment.  The surf titles involves the participation of over 7000 athletes along with their supporters, and the area in which we conduct our finish line will be used by surf clubs to house their equipment.

We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing you back at Kirra parkrun on 8th April 2017.
