Gladstone parkrun will be hosting an event on New Years Day 2018. We look forward to seeing you all there for a 7am start. What better way to start 2018!
After so much rain during the past few weeks we regret to announce that parkrun will be cancelled again this week. The course is underwater in a number of locations and our alternate route is also not a viable option. We apologise and are looking forward to a sunny week ahead!
On the up-side Tannum Sands parkrun at Canoe Point is still on. Please consider meeting us there ready for a 7.00am start.

Just wanted to clarify that all parkruns over the Christmas period will take place as per usual. Boxing Day Saturday 26th December will happen as per normal with a start time of 7am. Similarly Saturday 2nd January will also still go ahead as planned. There will not be any additional events scheduled due to numbers.
Our foundation Event Director Terri Hewerdine will be relocating to Caloundra in the New Year and her last event will be Saturday 12th of December. She thanks you all for your support over the past 2+ years and wishes you all the best for the future. We will need some more vollies to step up and fill our rotating roster. Please contact Carmen via the firstname.lastname@example.org email address or Gladstone Qld parkrun facebook page.
We wish you and your families a happy and safe Christmas! Run safe in the hot weather and see you again soon.
Terri, Carmen and the parkrun team.
WOW time sure flies when you're having fun! Gladstone Qld parkrun will be celebrating its second birthday on Saturday 27th June and we invite everyone to come down and join in, bring your friends and family and introduce them to parkrun for the first time.
Megan Leane, Dietitian will be there with a batch of fresh fruit salad and generously will be giving away a free consultation. There will be cake too of course as you cross the finish line and plenty of other fun and friends along for the day including Mel from parkrun.
Please let us know if you have any ideas for theming or activities on the day we'd love to hear your thoughts! Otherwise plan to enjoy our company for a little longer on Saturday the 27th of June and we'll see your smiling faces then.
Ignore the clouds overhead, we will still be going ahead tomorrow and are looking forward to seeing our parkrun family again after having a few cancellations due to extreme wet weather conditions. Our event tomorrow is Christmas-themed being the last event before Christmas.
With that in mind we ask that you all come along with your festive spirit wearing red or a Santa Hat / reindeer antlers or some kind of decoration.
See you soon Santa's!
After a week of consistent heavy rain and another storm setting in tonight we are sad to announce parkrun will be cancelled yet again this week. The track is wet, soggy and underwater with no alternate route in two places. I apologise and am looking forward to a sunny week ahead.
parkrun Event Directors.
We apologise for the late notice but unfortunately have to cancel todays run due to the heavy rain and lightning currently happening in Gladstone. There are multiple areas of the track that are underwater, muddy and covered in debris. The safety of our runners is of the utmost importance to us and therefore the event has officially been cancelled.

Ten years ago this Thursday (2 October, 2004) 13 people gathered in a park in Southwest London and completed a 5km time trial. Little did they know they were making history and became the first ever parkrunners! In ten short years parkrun has become nothing short of a phenomenon. It’s a running revolution. And we’re all part of it. As parkrun is now global, the anniversary of the launch of Bushy parkrun has been anointed International parkrun Day.
This year IpD is being held this Saturday, 4 October, which is of course parkrun's 10th birthday! To celebrate this huge milestone we will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘most participants in a 5km run across multiple locations’. The current record was set by Cancer Research UK at the Race For Life One Big Day event and involved 101,246 participants at 23 locations across the UK on 4 June 2006. Bring along your friends, family, collegues to help us with our World Record attempt. Visit www.parkrun.com.au to register (its free!) and bring your barcode down to the Lions Park, Kin Kora this Saturday morning at 6.45am for a 7am sharp start time. Whether you are out for a stroll, light jog or are a regular runner people of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate. Kids, prams and your furry friends are all welcome!
Yes that's right! It really has been a year already.
parkrun Gladstone will celebrate its first birthday on Saturday June 21 and we are inviting you all to come and celebrate with us in the Lions Park, Kin Kora. Starting from 6.30am there will be free activities, a BBQ, birthday cake and a special award ceremony you are not going to want to miss!
Kick off your weekend with fun in the park. Everyone is welcome, you can walk, jog or run and we are pram and pet friendly. The run commences at 7am sharp. Bring all the kids along for the fun free activities held in the Lions Park afterwards.
To take part simply visit www.parkrun.com.au and register once. Bring your barcode along to the event and most of all HAVE FUN!
