Coburg parkrun # 244 – 07/12/2019

Well... not mayhem, but super awesome efforts by a bunch of our fantastic regulars! Congratulations to:

  • Juliette FISHLOCK (JW10) on hitting her first BIG milestone, welcome to the 10 Club Juliette!
  • Elliott DENNY (JM10) and Murphy MCLACHLAN (SM30-34) on joining the 50 Club!

A healthy scattering of PBs today also - must be that amazing morning we all enjoyed.

There were a few enquiries regarding our Christmas and New Year's Day runs - they are both definitely on! Jingle bells indeed!

Although it would be great to get a few more volunteers in for those days, as they can be preeeeeetty busy!

Happy weekend all

Festive Arrangements

There are only two days of the year where parkrun events take place outside of a Saturday morning... Christmas Day and New Year's Day. You can find out more on our special events page.

On Christmas Day we'll host a special event at 08:00.

Some of our neighbouring parkrun teams are also hosting events.

Participants will be able to register at most ONE event on Christmas Day.

On New Year's Day we'll host a special event at 08:00.

Why not start off the New Year with a parkrun adventure? Some of our neighbouring parkrun teams are also hosting events, allowing you to "do the double"...

  • Darebin are hosting an event at 09:30

Participants will be able to register at most TWO events on New Year's Day.

Don't forget your barcode! #dfyb

No barcode, no result, no exceptions

This week's results include fifteen "Unknown" participants. This is because they forgot their barcode.

Printed barcodes are used at all parkrun events globally to record your results. Unfortunately, our barcode scanners can't scan mobile phone or smart watch screens . You can collect and print your barcode from Alternatively, you can order your barcode on a laser engraved silicone wristband from Bent Logic. We are strict with regard to this policy as we process over 100,000 results every weekend and if we were to relax our approach it would increase the amount of work for our volunteers.

If you'd like to learn more about the history of the printed barcode at parkrun and why this policy is in place, take a listen to the special No barcode, no result, no exceptions episode of the excellent Free, Weekly, Timed podcast.
