Christies Beach parkrun Event number 233 23rd October 2021

Christies Beach parkrun was a beautiful sunny, windy morning today. This week 173 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 21 were first timers and 25 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 17 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 11 volunteers. A huge thank you to them all!

Christies Beach parkrun Event number 232 16th October 2021

Cloudy and breezy was the most apt description for today's event, but that couldn't dull the bright and cheery attitudes that made parkrun an amazing place to be. Only tourists from West Beach parkrun made themselves known to the crowd, but they joined in to make it a total of 155 people who ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 16 were first timers and 21 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part.

And claiming the only milestone this weekend, Adam Ireson clocks up his 50th parkrun event. Well done Adam. Keeping it in the Ireson family, a big shout to parkrun junior, Ben Ireson, on claiming the coveted #1 Finish Token. A sterling effort.

Good luck to everyone taking on the McLaren Vale Half, 10k and 5k events tomorrow. Look after yourselves, as we'd love to see you all back at the Espy next week.

Christies Beach parkrun Event number 231 9th October 2021

Comfortable conditions were soon altered when Mr. Sun peeked out and turned up the heat. The minimal breeze was of little aid to cool the heels of the 163 people who ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 17 were first timers and 15 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part.

Congratulations to Kylie Larsson and Robert Najjar for completing their 50th parkrun milestone and also to Chris Slusarski for an amazing 100th parkrun finish. Well done to you all, a great achievement.

The biggest of shout-outs to this week's volunteers, especially those that stepped in at the last moment to timekeep and photograph, to ensure that a great morning was had by all. Without volunteers, parkrun cannot happen every week, so with that in mind, please think about what parkrun means to you and how you can contribute to keep it happening for our community. There are so many options to choose that lets you focus on 1 role or if you want to get a run and a vollie credit. Ask us how.

Christies Beach parkrun Event number 230 2nd October 2021

Good vibes at parkrun were definitely felt this morning, with friends and families gathering for their weekly 5k fix. A big thank you to our volunteers, headed by RD Diana Hunt, for another great morning. The cool conditions, though overcast, were superb for runners and walkers alike. The absence of winds, gusts and breezes aided with all the PBs attained.

A special milestone mention for Julie Locker, completing her 25th volunteer event. Whilst running milestones are important and validate the commitment to making an effort to being active, we feel the volunteer milestone stands apart and is definitely something to be proud of. Thank you, Julie, for your amazing contribution to parkrun and additionally, for serving the greater community with your incredible volunteer work through Christies Beach SLSC.

This week 139 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 19 were first timers and 12 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part.

An amazing start to parkrun this week. The crowd joined in to celebrate our volunteers for making the magic happen at Christies Beach.

This week 168 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 19 were first timers and 35 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 15 different clubs took part.
