Chermside parkrun Event #30 – 26th March 2016

It was a truly eggscelent day for a parkrun. Today we had 208 finishers, with over a quarter of those being first timers! Congratulations to first finishers Mark Ainsworth and Solly Litchfield. Well done to Rohan Bagshaw who completed his 10th run as a junior today.

Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers - Nicholas Wise, Julie Lowe, Robyn Foley, Stacy McInnes, Simon Pilcher, Mark Murray, Stephen Tighe, Bradley Scott and Mark Huth! Thank you as well to Melissa Murphy of Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club for the warmup and LJ Hooker Chermside for the drinks.

Next week our wonderful pacers are back and we are looking forward to seeing lots of PBs in the results.  Can we beat the 80 PBs set last time we had pacers???  See you all again next week to find out!

Chermside parkrun Event #24 – 13th February 2016

What a lovely morning for a parkrun with a MASSIVE 59 PBs today! Awesome effort! We are tickled pink our numbers keep increasing with 224 parkrunners today! We had 47 new parkrunners join us, including visitors from Kirra and Stockton parkruns - we'd love to see you back again!

Congratulations to our speedy first finishers - Jeremy Solley in 17:11 for the boys and Clare Geraghty in a red hot 17:58 for the girls, SMASHING our female course record! Well done Clare!

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who made the event run smoother than cupid's bottom - Veronica Huth, Trish Murray, Nicholas Wise, Leigh Elliott, Julie Seol, Caeleigh Hancock and Bradley Scott. Melissa Murphy from Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club got us warmed up and LJ Hooker Chermside provided the drinks to cool us down.

Chermside parkrun Event #23 – 6th February 2016

It's Raining Again, but Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now with 200 Footloose parkrunners with the Eye of the Tiger descending on Chermside parkrun for Nothing But A Good Time and to get a new PB with our pacers. And did they what!? with a massive 48 PBs this morning! What a Feeling! Our Hungry Like A Wolf first finishers were Elliot Carr and Laura Heinrich. I Can't Fight This Feeling and keep coming up with 80s songs ...

Congratulations to Nicholas Wise our January parkrunner of the month! Nicholas is a regular volunteer and I can't find enough superlatives to express how grateful we are to have his cheerful help each and every week. Thank you Nick you're Simply the Best!

Congratulations too to Tracy Nielsen and her dogs who were our best dressed! She's Got the Look!

Chermside parkrun Event #22 – 30th January 2016

What an amazing turnout today! Our second biggest since launch day! Many thanks to each and every one of the 216 parkrunners that braved today's very muggy conditions. 40 new runners joined us - hope you enjoyed it, and we'd love to see you all back next week.

Bassel Banna celebrated his 50th parkrun with us today, and looked fabulous sporting a cape, tutu, accessories and great smile along the course today! Awesome work Bassel, wonderful to have you join us every week.

Congratulations to first finishers Trevor Warburton and Jo Whitby. Also to the 35 parkrunners that scored PBs in these hot conditions - such a great effort.
