Chermside parkrun Event #33 – 16th April 2016

The cooler weather is here, and it suited the more than 70 people who set PBs this morning. We also had Sheldon Swann's 100th run. Congratulations Sheldon!

Well done to our first finishers Elliot Carr and Solly Litchfield and a big thank you to all of the volunteers, without whom there would be no parkrun.

Thank you as well to Melissa Murphy from Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club for the warmup, LJ Hooker Chermside for providing the post-run drinks and Ron Curtis from Cafe2U for the coffee van!

A reminder that next week, April 23rd, we are cancelled due to another event in the park. We will be back again on April 30th. See you then.

Chermside parkrun Event #27 – 5th March 2016

Holy performance-enhancing pacers Batman ... 80 PBs today!!! Awesome effort to those parkrunners! And well done to *all* 244 parkrunners who joined us today. It was certainly better weather for running today compared to previous weeks.

Congratulations to our parkrunner of the month for February - Melissa Clark. Melissa is a regular runner and volunteer at Chermside and also organises our post-run coffee meetups. She has run 18 times and PB'ed on 8 occasions, bringing her time from about 35 minutes down to below 30 minutes recently! She has also volunteered 4 times. Well done and thank you for your support Melissa.

Thank you to our awesome volunteers today - Ange Lovejoy-Cullen, Julie Seol, Les and Laurene Williams, Nicholas Wise, Jeanette Webster, Raquel Bita and Fiona King - we appreciate all that you do. And to our performance-enhancing pacers - Greg Webster, Peter Lewis, Laura Heinrich, Cyron Macey, Jess Neild, Mark Huth, Michael Rohde and Bradley Scott - great job!

Thank you to Kath Gorrie from Boot Camps Australia Chermside for taking our warmup today and to LJ Hooker Chermside for the refreshing drinks.

Next week we are having an Irish / Green Theme for St Patrick's Day. So come dressed in your finest Irish attire or just wear something green, eg a simple green shirt, Incredible Hulk, Shrek, little green men, Green Day shirt, Green and Gold, a lettuce ... whatever!!! And we'll get into the spirit by providing lime cordial, for a change :)

Thanks again and see you all next week.

Well done to the 225 parkrunners who joined us for another steamy morning. Despite the summer heat, we welcomed a whopping 46 new faces this morning and 44 peeps rocked PB's! Great to see the New Year's resolutions are still going strong.

Mark Huth our wonderful Event Director, ran his 100th parkrun - what an achievement! We are so grateful for everything he has done to get Chermside parkrun up and running, and are glad to see he is now getting some weeks to enjoy running the actual course too, as our little event team grows.

Congratulations to our first finishers Jeremy Solley and Julie Parke. Great effort today guys.

Thanks to the A-Team yet again, our awesome volunteers - Bradley Scott, Cyron Macey, Ange Lovejoy-Cullen, Julie Seol, Les Williams, Michael Rohde, Nicholas Wise, Stephanie Serhan and Tomin George we appreciate all that you do.
Thank you to Melissa Murphy of Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club for the warmup and LJ Hooker Chermside for the drinks. It was great to also have intraining running school along today with us as well.

Chermside parkrun Event #25 – 20th February 2016

Well done to the 209 parkrunners who joined us for a very sultry and slightly muddy parkrun #25! Felt like I'd been for a swim rather than a run today. Amazingly 48 hardy souls rocked out PBs despite the sauna-like conditions. Respect! Congratulations to our first finishers today - Elliott Carr and Bernadette McKenna.

I'd especially like to thank the parkrunner who was our impromptu marshal at the Newman Rd underpass, reminding us to slow down and take care in the mud left behind from the rain last night. Thank you!

Thank you as always to our invaluable volunteers - Rodney Law, Leanne Heselden, Melissa Clark (and her dog!), Peter Jardine, Ange Lovejoy-Cullen, Bradley Scott, Uwe Krueger and the awesome finish-line cheersquad of Raquel Bita, Sarah Dowding and Nicholas Wise, which might explain why there were so many PBs despite the conditions! Thank you to Melissa Murphy of Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club for the warmup and LJ Hooker Chermside for the oh-so welcome cool drinks afterwards.
