Thank you to the 154 parkrunners who joined us for Chermside parkrun #37 this morning. We are seeing lots of PBs in the cooler weather with 53 of you smashing out a PB, that's more than 1/3 of our runners! Congratulations to our first finishers Andy Dey in 17:58 for the boys and Annabelle O'Hara in 20:14 for the girls.
Special congratulations to Les Williams for completing his 100th parkrun today! Les has also volunteered 18 times and he and his wife Laurene are parkrun stalwarts, and not just at Chermside. Les began his parkrunning at New Farm parkrun way back in 2012, moved to Mitchelton when it started, and has recently been running and volunteering at Chermside. To top it all off, Les recently underwent eye and heart surgery but barely missed a week of parkrun during that time, still coming along to volunteer when he wasn't able to run. Thank you Les, you're a deadset parkrun legend!
Thank you as always to our awesome volunteers who made the event run so smoothly. Thank you as well to Melissa Murphy of Centenary Aquatic Centre and Health Club for the warmup and LJ Hooker Chermside for the drinks.
