13 years ago 2 October, 2004, 13 people gathered in a park in Southwest London and completed a 5km time trial. Little did they know they were making history and became the first ever parkrunners!
13 years later and parkrun is now the biggest running event in the world, taking place in 17 countries, with more than 200,000 people walking, jogging, running or volunteering every week across over 1,200 events- and its still free, for everyone.
To celebrate how the international parkrun community has grown over the last 13 years, we want to collect a photograph of a personalized apricot top from every event in the world.
Simply post your photo on social media with the hashtag #parkrun13 and we'll do the rest.
