New Year

Blackbutt parkrun will once again be holding a New Year parkrun at our wonderful venue - normal start time at 8am on New Years Day - and this will give runners / walkers enough time to easily make the start of The Beaches parkrun at 9:30am.

We welcome anyone who want to experience a great downhill bush run (well the finish IS lower than the start at least, there are just a few big hills in between!) - start the year with a resolve to achieve great things in 2019 - and enjoy the cameraderie and friendly atmosphere at Blackbutt

NewYear event

We are planning to run on Monday 1st January 2018 at 8:00am at the beautiful Blackbutt parkrun - hopefully we will be back on our regular course by then, but no guarantees of that. Newy and Lakeview have so far indicated that they are also holding an event on the day at 8am, and many runners are planning a mass visitation to The Beaches at 9:30am (some even planning to run/ride from those events to The Beaches!)

Maximum scanning of your barcode is TWO times on New Years Day - so please adhere to the rules.....but so far it would be impossible to reach three events locally anyway!

Hopefully we will have a great turnout of regulars and visitors ready to experience our hills and bush setting (remember no dogs permitted at Blackbutt Reserve!) - everyone welcome!

New Year’s Day ‘Butt Blaster’ parkrun Event

Join us at 08:00am on New Year's Day for a once only chance to run our 'Butt Blaster' course.

This course was mapped as our original course before we decided that it might be a wee bit too tough for a weekly event. It has 10m more elevation than the usual Blackbutt course. It's the perfect way to blow away the cobwebs after a big New Year's Eve. Come and feel the burn to kick off 2014 in style!!

Event 19/10/13 Cancelled

***** Blackbutt (The Butt) is cancelled for 19/10/13 tomorrow ****

Your safety is the Butt teams priority and while it may seem over cautious, medical help is slow to get to you on course if someone has breathing issues given the present smokey conditions.

The Region of Runners is lucky to have other parkrun options. parkrun and stay safe.

Event #1 Pre-launch Stockland/parkrun relay

The start at 6:30am - ready to go

Also on the 3rd of August, a Blackbutt parkrun prelaunch event was held to celebrate the relationship between parkrun Australia and Stockland.
Stockland representative Tara O'Reilly joined parkrun ED's from Newy parkrun (Dave Robertson), Fingal Bay parkrun (Jaci Richards),Lake Mac parkrun (Dave Appleby) and Garry Wells, ED from Blackbutt parkrun in carrying a parkrun flag from Stockland Jesmond to the parkrun start line. It was a 4.8km run which included a very large hill climb that fitted in perfectly with the day. We had Stockland representatives on site at the start and they also provided a great BBQ for the launch.

finished and placing the flag at the start line for "The Butt" Blackbutt parkrun.

Thanks Bradley Nolan photography for the photo's.
