Event #87 – Backwards Butt for Harmony

Blackbutt parkrun #87 was held under grey skies, but the temperature and conditions were perfect for running, and communing with nature in our fantastic reserve.
This event was held on Harmony Day - it is marked by people coming together and participating in local activities. The continuing message of Harmony Day is 'Everyone Belongs'. It is about community participation, inclusiveness, celebrating diversity, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone - amply illustrated with the parkrun concept.
138 runners braved the reverse course on Saturday, with an excellent coterie of volunteers supporting the runners. Extra cones used to ensure no-one got lost going 'backwards'.
An amazing group of junior runners appear to be challenging themselves at The Butt - with some great times, new PBs set, and lots of enthusiasm. We love to see these young guys and girls participating (even if their parents cannot keep up!)
No incidents to report (though one runners crossed the line with blood all over his face from a blood nose - no fall or accident, and cleaned up okay)
Thanks to everyone involved!
