Berwick Springs parkrun Run Report
Event number 363
10th July, 2021
Did someone say fog?
The fog was thicker than pea soup this morning, which made it eerily beautiful across the lake, and very cold for those standing around (Thanks volunteers!)
Today 103 people completed our course, of which 3 were first timers, and 10 recorded new personal bests.
A warm welcome to Ethan Winterton*, Kristian Admiraal and Amy Brown who completed their first parkrun with us this morning. Hope you enjoyed it and we hope to see you back next week.
An equally warm welcome to Chong Chee Goh and Mun Yee Goh who ran at Berwick Springs for the first time. Regulars at Frog Hollow, we are glad to see you both at our event!
The following 10 parkrunners achieved a new Personal Best (PB):
- Paul Browning 18.54
- Rory Craig 18.58
- Scott Culpin 20.42
- Pascal Chinien 24.48
- Tanya Lav 26.42
- Tatum Brand 33.55
- Sophie Irwin 34.14
- Jamie Smith 34.16
- Adriaan Brand 35.12
- Chris Martin 35.49
Congratulations to all of you and a wonderful effort. The cool conditions must have certainly made you run faster!
Our event would not be possible, if it wasn’t for the following 8 awesome volunteers:
- Tanya Craig
- Jourdan Browning
- Lana Johnson
- Cheryle Craig
- James Fiske
- Melissa Parsons
- Daryl J
- Alana C
- Monica Boland
Thank you for volunteering. Our event could not happen without you volunteering your time..
Thanks to Tanya for taking a few photos for us as today along with her RD duties, as we didn’t have anyone put their hand up for photographer this week. Taking photos is really easy. It’s just point and click. If you love looking at all the photos each week, please consider having a go. Your parkrun community will love you for it!
There are lot of empty spots on the volunteer roster. Can you please have a look and see if you can help us? We can’t do it without you..
Click on the below link to see what roles are vacant.
To keep parkrun happening, we ask that you check in via the QR code. If you don’t have your phone or choose to leave your phone in the car, you can manually enter the code SCG2ZW via the Services Victoria app either prior or after the event. This action will help the tracing of any future outbreaks. (hopefully this doesn’t happen..)
Rob Beard completed his 50th parkrun today. 43 of those have been at Berwick Springs. Rob has recorded 10 x PB’s over his 50 parkruns. Well done Rob!
I don’t think many of us has seen Paul Sier without his dog Floyd at parkrun, and today Paul (and possibly Floyd?) completed his 50th! Paul has a speedy PB of 22.52. Could this be Floyd assisted?! Congratulations Paul! (and Floyd)
Look forward to seeing you both in your red shirts soon!
David Cunningham is no stranger to the Berwick Springs parkrun community, and as he pointed out to me today, it has taken 7 years to complete his 100th parkrun. An advocate for cardiac health, he is a member of the Cardiac Athletes and brought the importance of knowing CPR to our event in an all too real situation… Well done David. It’s taken a while, but you have earned that Black T-Shirt!
