Ho Ho Ho Christmas Day parkrun is back for 2018. We will start at normal time, 8am Tuesday 35th December so get in and get your run done before we eat all the food.

Christmas at parkrun

Christmas Day parkrun is back in 2017 along with a New Years Day parkrun!

These are in addition to our regular Saturday parkruns and will both start at the regular time of 8am.

We look forward to running and walking the Festive Season with you.

Christmas and New Years Day parkrun

That's right! Bendigo parkrun will have a bonus Christmas Day and New Years Day parkrun on at the special times of 9am and 8.30am respectively.

See you there!

Run Report 59: Olympic Efforts

The rain held off, the coolth held on, the parkrunners gathered, and the times recorded. Despite slightly anti-social weather there was a milestone, many personal bests, and lots of pride. Every parkrunner can be happy with their start to the day.

Newcomer Welcome

Seven first timers with records now to break, and seven unknown with barcodes now to take. Plenty of reasons to return to the course.

Need to sign up for a barcode? Follow this link: https://www.parkrun.com.au/register/

Milestones

Usain Blot doesn't have one parkrun to his name, but Jason Richter has achieved his 50th, Issac Everett and Alison Cartner have become first finishers, Harm Van Rees lead our age/gender grade rank, and Chris O'Berin, Brendan Zoch, Ann-Marie Wangdi, Alex Sutton, Hanako Aono, Tamara Cottingham, Karleen Farley, Angela Graystone, Belinda Dobbin, Elizabeth Hartland, Marg Sheridan and Tricia King all recorded personal bests. In a way they are all better than Usain Bolt.

Volunteering

The volunteer spirit made Australia's Olympics one of the best. Bendigo parkrun thanks its recent volunteers, Craig Graham, Vicki Lane, Angus McPherson, Luke Morris, Gregory Mundy, Yvette Rose, and Stephen Van Rees.

We ask if you run five times, please volunteer once. This ratio should keep the event going. Volunteer via this link: http://www.parkrun.com.au/bendigo/volunteer/

Tourists

This week Bendigo has Orchestra Victoria visiting. There's a lot of free live music so check it out here: https://www.bendigotourism.com/whats-on/whats-on-this-month

It's Free

Bendigo parkrun is a timed, 5km event every Saturday. How is it free? It is all possible with support from our volunteers and The City of Greater Bendigo, and our sponsors: Suncorp, Stockland, VicHealth, the Gazelles Running Group, Medibank and The Athletes Foot.

Tip of the Week

Bill Hicks on running: Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.... etc
