It was an absolute ripper of a morning on Saturday, the perfect morning and conditions for a run or walk down the beach, and it was fantastic to see 90 runners and walkers at Altona Beach parkrun. Huge welcome to our 18 first-timers and big congrats to the 14 parkrunners who recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of nine different athletics clubs took part.

Finish line and finish tokens
We remind parkrunners to please cross the finish line only once – please don’t come through twice as it can cause problems with the results later. Please also be reminded that your finish token must be handed back to our volunteers after it has been scanned. Please do not take it home as a souvenir!
Unfortunately, token #52 has gone walk-about! If you have it, please let us know, we would love to get it back!!
Safety on the course
Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian, or other designated adult of the parent’s choice. It must also be ensured that children place themselves appropriately at the start so as to prevent a situation where they are being repeatedly overtaken. This is to ensure the safety of your child.
The path can get congested with runners, walkers, and cyclists, so please be mindful of other path users and keep to the left. Dogs should be kept on a short lead.
Especially in summer, we encourage all parkrunners to bring water and keep well-hydrated. Please also remember that snakes love the warmer weather so please be aware of the potential for them to be out and about.

Milestone Club T-shirts
parkrunners are able to order milestone t-shirts when they have completed 10 (Juniors only), 50, 100, 250, and 500 parkruns.
For those working towards a milestone, your profile page will show how many events you’ve completed and how many more you need to complete before you reach the next milestone.
If you are a parkrunner due a milestone, check your profile (accessible through the link in your weekly newsletter email or results email) for a message informing you that you are now entitled to claim your milestone t-shirt. A personalised link will then take you to the appropriate page on parkrun's Wiggle-powered online store where you'll be able to order your t-shirt(s).
Nick MORRISON-STORY (SM25-29) (Unattached) was first over the line in 18:13 - 4th time in 4 appearances.
Julien DANDRIEUX (VM40-44) (Unattached) was second over the line in 18:46.
Andrew HARDIE (VM35-39) (Unattached) was third over the line in 18:49 - was first to finish once before.

Shelley BOWLER (VW40-44) (Unattached) was third (31st overall) over the line in 25:50.

Julien DANDRIEUX (VM40-44) was graded 72.74% for the time 18:46 (second overall).
Altona Beach parkrun started on 9 May 2015, and since then 848 different runners, including participants from 46 athletics clubs, have completed 3,316 runs covering a total distance of 16,580 km, and there have been 832 new Personal Bests.
The female record is held by Nardine BAINBRIDGE who ran in a time of 00:18:34 on 2015-08-22 (event number 16).
The male record is held by Shane THIELE who ran in a time of 00:16:26 on 2015-11-14 (event number 28).
The Age Grade course record is held by Terry PEARCE who recorded a 85.74% run (18:42) on 16th May 2015 (event number 2).
