Christmas and New Years Day parkruns

There's no better way to seeing in the new year than with a 5km run next to the beach.

These people certainly think so...

Victor Harbor parkrun, New Years Day 2016

Well, we're doing it again in 2017 with a 9am start near Kent Reserve (some of our event team like to sleep in a little too.) Three cheers for a double parkrun that weekend!

Now for the real parkrun fanatics you could get three parkruns in a weekend. How? you say, well I'm glad you asked. Mount Barker will be having a 7am run and Strathalbyn will also be starting a 9am. I'll leave the maths to you but please be careful on the roads.

We wont be holding a parkrun on Christmas day, for those travelling for Christmas and New Years you can use the parkrun Christmas Compedium to help plan you festive parkruns.

Christmas and New Years Day parkruns

Is there a better way to seeing the New Year start than with a free timed 5k? We don't think so. So this year we will be running from the corner of Harborview Terrace and Franklin Parade, you know, where we run every week, starting at 9am New Years Day.

We won't be doing Christmas Day but if you need to get your parkrun in on Christmas Day, Mount Barker parkrun, has you covered. The South Australian Road Runners Club also have their Fanatics Half Marathon (with shorter options too).
