Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event 230

This week I think we need acknowledge the marshall at the top of the lake! With the wind coming off the lake, I can only imagine how cold it must have been, yet she was all smiles, giving every participant encouragement as they passed.

We also didn't have a photographer this week, so our photos this week are brought to you by selfies, which made selecting photos for the newsletter very easy.

This week 139 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 12 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event 229 B

Pacers! These great volunteers are such an amazing incentive to get out of bed on a Saturday morning and run around Victoria Lake. There were two quotes that I am going to share...

"Woop Woop PB, thanks Pacer Chris Nicholson couldn't have done it without u kicking me along” - Tracey Staggard

"It may not have been a PB, but having Chris Harvey running with me at the start, and then his voice later on helped push me to finish the 5km" - Justine Ryan

Being a pacer, and any volunteer for that matter, is not just about helping someone achieve a new PB, but helping them along their journey. We have a great crew at Shepparton who are always positive and cheering the parkrunners/joggers/walkers.

This week 121 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 12 were first timers and 16 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 3 different clubs took part.
