Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event 219

What perfect conditions we had for yet another parkrun.

This week 149 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 8 were first timers and 21 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

The Age Grade course record is held by Annette O'SHEA who recorded 93.71% (19:04) on 29th March 2014 (event number 12).

50 Club
This week we have a personal milestone of 50 parkruns to celebrate.
We would like to congratulate Leo Bartels.

Leo has run 49 of his parkruns here at Shepparton and 1 at Batemans Bay parkrun. Of Leo’s 49 parkruns, 6 have been PB’s. Since his 1st parkrun, Leo has reduced his time by 2:32. Leo has also volunteered twice.
Congratulations Leo and look forward to you joining the 100 club.

This week we have a personal milestone of 50 parkruns to celebrate.
We would like to congratulate Jack Popplestone.

Jack has run 43 of his parkruns here at Shepparton 2 at Darwin parkrun NT and 1 each at 5 different parkruns. Of Jack’s 49 parkruns, 10 have been PB’s. Since his 1st parkrun, Jack has reduced his time by 2:20.

ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Awareness day run, May 12th 2018.
Shepparton parkrun & Shepparton ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia support group are combining forces to create awareness of ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia.
Where: Victoria Park Lake (Shepparton) Time: 7.45am Date: 12th May 2018 Show your support by wearing purple/blue T-shirt, PJs or running with your pillow or blanket.

Saturday was a very fresh start to what turned into a wild winter day ... in Autumn! What a stark contrast to the sunny skies of last week. A timely reminder that the colder parkruns are just around the corner.

There are still some warm sunny days left! There were clear blue skies and perfect conditions for another Shepparton parkrun that was enjoyed by all.

This week some of our parkrunners travelled to other parkruns. They were the Reynolds who participated at Albert Melbourne parkrun. Scott McAuliffe travelled to Ballarat parkrun. The Kirschner family were at Bega parkrun and Sue Olley was at Rosebud parkrun.

Michelle has run 46 of her parkruns here at Shepparton and 1 each at Albert parkrun Melbourne, Bendigo parkrun, Bright parkrun and Victor Harbour parkrun. Of Michelle’s 49 parkruns, 9 have been PB’s.  Since her 1st parkrun, Michelle has reduced her time by 5:23.  Michelle has also volunteered 4 times.

Kids volunteer day 5th May.
There are still a couple of vacancies. This is a great opportunity to get the kids involved. There will be plenty of helpers!

A reminder that scooters and bicycles are not allowed at parkrun for safety reasons.

Another glorious morning in Shepparton. And what a better way to spend the easter holiday than Shepparton parkrun.

This week some of our parkrunners travelled to other parkruns. They were the Harveys who attended Tuggeranong parkrun, Sue Olley who attended Albury Wodonga parkrun, Mathieu and Justine Ryan who attended Torquay parkrun and Grant and Natalie Hicks who attended Bendigo parkrun. 

We had tourists from Mullum Mullum parkrun, Mernda parkrun and Altona Beach parkrun. We hope they enjoyed their time in Shepparton.

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event 215

Well it was another great week at parkrun. With the cooler weather starting to come, so do the PB's with 25 lucky people recording a new personal best this weekend. Don't forget that this coming Saturday is pacer week. Hopefully they will be able to encourage us all to a new PB!

This week 150 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 8 were first timers and 25 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 7 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 15 volunteers. This week we would like to thank Allan CONNOLLY, Steven TREVASKIS, Xander RAYMER, Logan RAYMER, Kellie RAYMER, Tara CALLINGHAM, Andrea REDFERN, Julie MULCAHY, Andrew OLLEY, Carmel RYAN, Louise DWYER, Gerard MONTGOMERY, Kate MONTGOMERY, Sam DANIEL and Erica KINGHAM-BRADLEY. On the 5th of May the kids are taking over and showing the grown ups how things are done! Kids please put your name down for volunteer roles this week or email sheppartonhelpers@parkrun.com and show everyone how easy it is to volunteer! I'm sure it will be a fun day.
