Shepparton parkrun weekly news – Event 205

What a wonderful day is was for our 4th anniversary celebrations. We had perfect weather which brought everyone out in their costumes and breaking our existing record of 272. Our new attendance record is 298 parkrunners.

Our year of 2017 was a great year for Shepparton parkrun with so many great achievements happening -

-There was an average of 157 parkrunners attend each week

- 1265 different people took part at Shepparton parkrun over the year

- 179 different people volunteered at Shepparton parkrun over the year

- We introduced pacers and we thank STY Fencing for providing the vests.

- We had 51 events this year. The person to attend the most is our "passionista" Trevor Dainton with 50 events.

- We all strive to improve our best each week and have that PB beside our name. The magic number for most PB’s this year is 12 and was achived by 3 people. Demi Wood, Jan Almond and Shane Colbert.

- This year if you put all our runs together we have run 39,500km or 2.7 times around Australia. We also passed the magical 100,000km during the year. Currently at 115,000km

- We have also been recognised and have been nominated for an 2018 Australia Day award.

Now off to a big start to our new year with a big 4th Anniversary celebration. We welcomed Greater Shepparton City Council mayor Kim O'Keefe who said a few words and also enjoyed taking part.

We would also like to say a big big thank you to Erica Kingham-Bradley who made our cakes for everyone to enjoy. Great to keep with the theme - 4 cakes and all superhero.

We welcomed visitors from other parkruns who joined us for our celebrations. Visitors from Inverloch parkrun, Cobram parkrun, Highlands parkrun, Bendigo parkrun and Toolern Creek parkrun.
