Shepparton parkrun weekly news – Event # 262

Welcome to the Shepparton parkrun weekly news. This week 270 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 14 were first timers and 57 amazing people recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

This week we had visitors from Studley, Euroa, Torrens, Karkarook, Rocks Riverside and Cobram parkruns. Some of our regulars took themselves to St Peters, Toowoomba, Highlands, Bendigo and Echuca Moama parkruns.

This week we had three BIG milestones with Cate Aitken, Kate Dainton and Sally Young reaching 50, 100 and 100 parkruns respectively! Thats a combined effort of 250 parkruns, which is a whopping 1250 km between them! Fantastic effort! Well done Superstars!

The Age Grade course record is held by Annette O'SHEA who recorded 93.71% (19:04) on 29th March 2014 (event number 12).

Shepparton parkrun started on 11th January 2014. Since then 3,469 participants have completed 32,968 parkruns covering a total distance of 164,840 km, including 5,535 new Personal Bests. A total of 414 individuals have volunteered 2,754 times.

 

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event #261

Welcome to another edition of the Shepparton parkrun weekly news! This week 250 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 19 were first timers and a massive 35 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different clubs took part.

A beautiful cool morning made for fast running conditions as we welcomed visitors from Chipping Norton, Mawson Lakes, Highlands and Palmerston parkruns. We also had regulars out and about at Balyang Sanctuary, Cobram and Toowoomba parkruns.

Welcome to the February 2nd edition of the Shepparton parkrun weekly news! This week 228 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 15 were first timers and 19 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

The weather was kind and this week we had visitors from Albury Wodonga, Bedfont Lakes, Sale, Crosby and West Beach parkruns. We also had regulars out and about at Balyang Sanctuary, Wangaratta and KM Reedy Reserve parkruns.

The event was made possible by 13 volunteers including a Superstar from the UK who undertook some voluntourism!:

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event # 259

Welcome to this weeks Australia Day, vegemite fuelled edition of the Shepparton parkrun news. This week's weather was kind to us, and our pacing superstars, who helped get 42 brand spanking new PBs!

This week 237 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 19 were first timers and as already mentioned 42 champions recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 7 different clubs took part.

This week we had tourists from Newport Lakes, Tuggeranong, Ballarat, Darebin, Lillydale and Nepean River. Some of our regular parkrunners headed off for some tourism of their own visiting Underwood park, Torquay, Jells, Castlemaine, Toowoomba, and Portarlington. Special mention to Mairead MacDougall who achieved her 190th parkrun at Underwood Park, it was her 60th different parkrun, her 50th different Australian parkrun and most notably, she completed her alphabet parkrun tourism challenge! Well Done Mairead!

Shepparton parkrun Weekly News – Event #258


Welcome to this weeks edition of the parkrun news. This week 258 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 17 were first timers and 32 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 7 different clubs took part. This week we had visitors enjoying Shepparton's fantastic cool spell from Bendigo, Rosebud, Westerfolds and Diamond Creek. We also had one of our regulars featured as "parkdog of the week"! You can read all about our famous Bailey here.

This week some of our regulars ventured to parkruns at Timboon, Queens Domain, Cobram and Mansfield. One of our superstar regular volunteers had a cracking run at Timboon achieving a speedy time of 21:48!! He had a fantastic run and it looked spectacular.
