It was another fantastic week at parkrun. Great to see the weather slowly getting warmer and the number of runners increase every week!
This week 151 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 7 were first timers and 21 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.
This weeks event was made possible by 12 fantastic volunteers. This week we had Helen REYNOLDS, Allan CONNOLLY, Kerry CONNOLLY, Tara LENNIE, Julie MULCAHY, Corinne SZCZUREK, Claudia SZCZUREK, Hamish REID, Richard SPEEDY, Penelope STEUART, Kim READ and Janelle COLLINS. Jack POPPLESTONE (JM15-17) (Unattached) was first over the line in 17:46 - 8th time in 35 appearances.
Glenn MCMILLAN (SM25-29) of Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can't Run Good, was second over the line in 17:51.
Jarrod MINOGUE (SM25-29) of Shepparton Runners Club, was third over the line in 18:20 - has been first to finish on 5 previous occasions.
Paula WILLMOTT (VW35-39) (Unattached) was first (20th overall) over the line in 21:54 - 11th time in 25 appearances.
Susan OLLEY (VW60-64) of Shepparton Runners Club, was second (32nd overall) over the line in 23:19 - has been first to finish on 50 previous occasions.
Elouise PETTIE (JW11-14) (Unattached) was third (37th overall) over the line in 24:04 - was first to finish once before.
The three highest age grades were recorded by:
Susan OLLEY (VW60-64) – 84.42% for the time 23:19 (32nd overall).
Trevor DAINTON (VM55-59) – 81.40% for the time 19:32 (8th overall).
Jack POPPLESTONE (JM15-17) – 77.11% for the time 17:46 (first overall).
The male record is held by Brady THRELFALL who recorded a time of 14:54 on 27th June 2015 (event number 75).
The female record is held by Tarli BIRD who recorded a time of 16:42 on 3rd December 2016 (event number 148).
The Age Grade course record is held by Annette O'SHEA who recorded 93.71% (19:04) on 29th March 2014 (event number 12).
Shepparton parkrun started on 11th January 2014. Since then 2,438 participants have completed 20,602 parkruns covering a total distance of 103,010 km, including 4,044 new Personal Bests.
This week we had tourists from Karkarook parkrun, Highlands parkrun, Ballarat parkrun and Merimbula parkrun NSW. We also had some Shepp parkrunners go touring. They were Lee-Anne Kirschner who traveled to Maribyrnong parkrun, Rosalie Smith and Peter Kesson who went to Lalor parkrun, Dylan Scoble who went to Echuca Moama parkrun and Mathieu and Justine Ryan who were at Phillip Island parkrun.
