Post Birthday Blues

30 hardy Victorians gathered on the verandah of Churchill Island Cafe at 7:45 (okay, maybe we waited until 7:55 so the brisk walk down to the start line could be a warm up) on Saturday morning. We huddled out of the drizzle and welcomed two first timers and a handful of tourists. We also announced that the winners of the two 2-week vouchers for My 24/7 Gym were Suzie Herrington and Scott Aitken. Congratulations! They were the closest locals to positions 25 and 60 after numerous tourists and unknowns runners last week.

Photos are on our Facebook page and Kirsty needs three volunteers to have a full roster next week.

parkrun #102

Well done to all 22 finishers and thank-you to the five volunteers who braved the cold this morning. Stephen and Kirsty Chambers, Clo Woollard, Michael Lowe and Roger Morris we could not have done it without you. Clo's brilliant photos are up on our Facebook page.

We welcomed two first timers and congratulate Samuel Harris and Kim McCarthy on bettering their previous times. All the best to Christina, Scott, Rick, Eddy and all other PI parkrunners running in other events this weekend.

We are counting down to our second birthday on July 8. As the Highland Cattle say: we are turning twooo, wear some bloooo. Birthday events are always a fun day and can be the perfect time to bring along that friend who has been planning on trying parkrun. We know it's the middle of winter but we'd love to better our attendance record of 197.

The volunteer roster has a couple of gaps next week but the birthday week has been filled by generous volunteers from surrounding Gippsland parkruns - what a supportive bunch!

Thanks for having me. Bek and Suzie will be your RDs next week.
See you then,
Kat
