Also a reminder that scooters and bicycles are not permitted at parkrun, due to the safety risks to both children and parkrunners.
Visually impaired athletes and guides
To connect with the VI team join the Achilles Brisbane - athletes & guides connect facebook group. Each Wednesday, the call goes out to match VI athletes with guides, and guide dogs with walkers, for the following Saturday.
Guides, visually impaired athletes of all abilities and guide dogs are very welcome at parkrun, as are runners and walkers of all abilities – visually impaired or not.
Hearing impaired and deaf athletes
To connect with deaf and hard of hearing parkrunners, join the parkrun in Australia for the Deaf and hard of hearing facebook group.
Athletes of all abilities are very welcome at parkrun – hearing impaired or not.
Mid-week (unofficial) social runs
If you’re keen to fit an extra social run or two into your weekly schedule, check out the unofficial New Farm outta-the-park runners facebook page.
A few parkrun regulars gather on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings for social runs, and the details are posted there. PM the group for more details.
Please take some time to watch this video, as we’d like everyone to know where our defibrillator is kept and the basics of its use.
The defib is stored in the plastic gear box between parkruns, and moved to the finish line for easy access once the run has started each week. It will stay there until the tail walker crosses the line.
