Hervey Bay parkrun event #100 2nd Anniversary!

What an awesome morning at our 2nd anniversary and event #100! There were so many people in fancy dress – if you haven’t already done so, check out the photo albums on our Hervey Bay parkrun Facebook page.

Thank you to Tania at the Sticky Fig Gallery Café for the gorgeous specially-designed cake – we loved it!

We also want to say a massive thank you to the families and businesses who donated fruit, vouchers and gifts – it certainly added to the celebrations! Special shout out to Sports First, Yo-get-it, the James family, Sophie Fleming, Kylie Brasell-Dellow, Darren Walters, John Street & family and the Smith family who all gave generously…we hope we haven't forgotten anyone!

Prior to the run we handed out medals and certificates for 2016. It was fantastic to reveal the winners of the highest number of runs, combined with volunteering, to achieve maximum points.

Congratulations to the top 3 points placings for 2016:

Male 1. Andrew Glasspool 2. Nick Dawes 3. Tony Dawes

Female 1. Jess Went 2. Danielle O’Rourke 3. Sharron Brennan

Congratulations also to our most consistent volunteers including Grahame Gronow, Dylan Smith, Sophie Fleming and Amelie Brasell-Dellow – we are very much indebted to you and all our volunteers for ensuring that we continue to provide this free, weekly, timed 5km event each week. Well done all!

And lastly, we wanted to thank all our runners and walkers for embracing parkrun and for making it a positive community for all to enjoy.
