Event #271 – 14 July 2018

event 271.14June2018A

From the Run Director

It was a beautifully clear and cold morning; perfect conditions for parkrun!

Congratulations to the 151 of you that conquered our course. A special welcome to the first timers and tourists that came to visit us today. We had 12 tourists, including participants from Logan River, Shellharbour and Spain (WOW!), and 4 brand new parkrunners. Well done to you all!

The cool conditions made for some very quick times, as we usually see in Winter. Chris Merder was our first finisher in a very speedy time of 19.15 and Karen Tebbit was our first female finisher (10th overall) in a fantastic time of 22.45. We also had 19 people achieve new PBs. Great effort, everyone.

We presented our certificates for our June parkrunners of the month - congratulations Anita and Peter Cummings - and also welcomed Sharon Parker to the 50 club (see the photos below).

As always, a heartfelt thank-you to all our amazing volunteers. We truly appreciate all your efforts. If you haven't volunteered in a while, please consider adding your name to the volunteer roster; all of the roles are very easy to do and it's lots of fun.

For now, work duties call; therefore this morning's photos will be uploaded to our FB album later this afternoon / tonight. That's for your understanding in that regard.

I'll be handing the RD hat over to Alison next week, but look forward to parkrunning with you all again very soon.

Cheers!

Event #270 – 7 July 2018

event 270.7July2018A

From the Run Director

A few puddles and some soggy conditions underfoot didn't stop the 177 of you that ventured out today for an early morning run / jog / shuffle / walk. Well done to each and every one of you!

Thanks for joining us, first timers, including tourists from Melbourne, Lota and Capalaba. We hope your enjoyed our beautiful course and will return to parkrun with us again soon.

We welcomed two new members to the 50 Club today. A huge congratulations to Nicky Davison and Jo Philips who've now both achieved this fantastic milestone (see photos below).

As it was Super Saturday, we announced our parkrunners of the month for June. As the recipients weren't able to attend this morning, we won't announce here who they are - but will wait to present them with their certificates next week.

As usual, a huge thanks to all our volunteers, including our pacers today, who all did a fantastic job.

Our results have now been processed, but we've received advice that parkrun IT at HQ are having an issue and there will be a slight delay before the results are actually published and emails sent. Thanks for your patience and understanding in that regard.

What a great way to start the weekend; can't wait to do it all again next week.

Cheers!
