Event #292 – 8 December 2018

292.8Dec2018A

From the Run Director

How was Cleveland parkrun #292 for you this morning? A little cooler than the past few weeks!! I hope you all had as much fun I did.

We had 157 finishers today, which included 12 first timers and 19 PB's!!! There were plenty of tourists too, coming from Wishart parkrun, Bunyaville parkrun, Paradise Point parkrun, Cairns parkrun. We even had an international tourist, Shaun, who came from Whiteley parkrun in the UK!

Our event was brought to you by these legends:
Cathy DUIGNAN • Glenda HARRINGTON • Linda ATKINSON • Grant TROTT • Jeska TILLEY • Ella COOP • Barb VAGGELAS • Liz LOVERING • Leila TILLEY • Lauren MACNAIR • Zrinka JOHNSTON

Next week's roster is full, wooohooo, but we still need some Junior Marshals for the following week (22nd), please get in touch if your child can help (with your help of course).

This morning we announced November's parkrunner Of The Month award - Sharon Parker (see photo below).. Sharon is a champion volunteer, 10 times in fact, has completed 57 out of 63 parkruns at Cleveland, always steps up to help out when we need it and loves encouraging people to the finish line. Congrats Sharon, we think you are pretty awesome!

One last thing, if you are looking for a Christmas present for your parkunrunning family, or perhaps even just for yourself, look no further! Bentlogic now have the new design key tags ready to purchase just in time for Christmas! Never forget your barcode again, simply put it on your car keys or your shoe lace. See the link in the comments below.

Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you all again next Saturday.

Dear parkrunners,

Photos and Results have now been posted.

This morning we had:

11 volunteers - a huge thank you to Maryam, Deb, Liv, Peta, Margaret, Daphne, Alena, Cathy, Nick and last but not least Monty - as always it was all so smooooth.

165 parkrunners

12 First Timers - we hope you enjoyed our course

8 parkrunners claimed a PB this morning, we hope you had enough energy left to ring our bell.

Nick Ellis not only volunteered for the 25th time this morning but it was also his 200th parkrun (spread over 44 events). Thanks Nick for your sensational support of parkrun.  Natalie Daley also ran her 50th parkrun this morning - congratulations.  (See photos below).

Our one and only John Day turned 88 today, many happy returns from your parkrun family.

As that was my last Cleveland parkrun for 2018, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and safe festive season. May it be filled with as many family, friends and parkruns that you can squeeze into it.

See you all again in 2019, missing you already,

paul RD

Event #289 – 17 November 2018

289.17Nov2018A

From the Run Director

Well, it was a warm morning for event #289, but that didn't stop 189 of you from joining us on our beautiful Cleveland parkrun course and starting the weekend in the best way possible.

There were quite a few PBs, even in the warm weather (see below) but remember to stay hydrated well, especially as we move in to the Summer months.  Remember, if you're finding the weather a bit too hot, you can always put your name down for one of the positions on our volunteer roster and have a slightly cooler Saturday morning.

Looking forward to seeing you all again next week for another fantastic parkrun.
