Run Report 09/06/2016

Good morning all!

There is some good news and also some not so good news. I will start off with the good news.

Well done to all of you runners who braved the cold this morning and also special thanks to the wonderful volunteers *insert clap, clap* who helped out to make this all happen.

Now for the not so good news, our stop watch has decided it was too cold this morning and went back to bed. Our trusty machine has done us proud and it may go to a better place now. In saying that, you will all get a default time of 59:59 but tally of runs will still be accounted for.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead. Stay safe and enjoy a hot coffee/chocolate/tea indoors as you all deserve it after a massive run this morning.

Thanks Anthony

Afternoon parkrunners,

Well done to those of you who ran this morning, almost perfect day for it today and congratulations to the 38 of you managed PB’s.

The barcode book made its final appearance at this mornings run. Please ensure that you have your printed barcode with you in future, or visit the brent logic site at http://www.bentlogic.com.au/index.html and order a plastic tag or wristband. They are a good product and Brent Logic donates $2 or $5 respectively from each item sold to parkrun.

Stats from todays run are below, the points table reset today because it was our anniversary run so it will be a couple of weeks before the points normalise - if you appear in the top 3 today and weren’t expecting to, well done! – The first placed male and female runners and all of todays volunteers scored 250 points, so there are a lot of us in joint first place this week.

See you all at the same time and place next week and as ever #DFYB.

There were a couple of milestones reached yesterday:

Nick Fudge completed his 100th parkrun, all of which have been at Claisebrook Cove - well-done Nick, awesome job and thanks to Tracy for the cake at the finish and Crystal Shiu, a refugee from Heirisson Island tried to sneak her 50th parkrun under the radar, but you cant hide from the stats – well done on the 50 and the great air shot at the end!

The volunteer roster is pretty sparsely populated for the next couple of weeks – a link to the roster is below, have a look and if there is a gap you can fill, please let us know. We can’t run our event without volunteers, so if you haven't had a go for a while, please put your hand up to help out.

Claisebrook Cove parkrun # 127

Evening all,

The results have now been processed and submitted for publishing on the parkrun website, sorry for the delay, there was a slight anomaly in the results today which Jon has done his best to rectify, however if your time is 30 minutes or over then you may find that your time may be out of sync with your watch. If it is significantly different then please send a message or e-mail us.

The new year has kicked off with a big attendance of 268 runners, this is quite common in January due the fantastic weather and New Year's resolutions. If you found the course very crowded this morning then there is also another parkrun in East Perth at Heirisson Island, which is entirely on trail and well worth a visit.

Thanks to today's volunteers, without you the event would not be possible to hold. We are still looking for 2 more volunteers for next week, on stopwatch and finish tokens.

Todays volunteers were:
Jon Storey - Run Director
Liam Fuery - Timekeeper
Freddie Mundy - Finish Tokens
Daniel Sly & Alexandra Meek - Barcode Scanning
Jane Hardy - Photographer
Carlie Outhwaite, Camille Henderson, Sally McLeod & Kevin Mundy - Marshals
Suzanne McMahon - Tail Runner
Peter Conroy - Lead Bike

Claisebrook Cove parkrun #124

Evening parkrunners,

Welcome to this weeks run report, I’d like to start by thanking our volunteers for their time and effort on Saturday, they were:

Brian GREENHALGH, Marshal • Brooke EMMETT, Photographer • Chris NEILON, Run Director • Dean CAMPBELL, Marshal • Evan KOLBE, Barcodes • Jackie BROSNAN, Marshal • Jen HESKETH, Finish Tokens • Kathryn NOBLE, Tail Runner • Laura ATKINSON, Timekeeper • Matt DOWSON, Barcodes • Pappathy VAIRAVAN, Marshal • Ross O’BRIEN, Lead Bike.

We can’t run our event without volunteers, so if you haven't had a go yet, please consider putting your hand up to help out. All training is provided and you will see parkrun from the other side.

One of parkrun Australia’s national sponsors - Suncorp Bank sponsor an award for parkrunner of the month (POTM), with the recipient receiving a Suncorp running singlet - November’s POTM was Clayton Treloar who ran each event in November and managed 2 PB’s along the way, he has run a total of 19 times at Claisebrook Cove and also volunteered 5 times in various roles, congratulations Clayton!

There was a second presentation prior to the run briefing as one of Claisebrook Cove’s regular runners Ken Stewart was presented with his 100 Shirt. Ken was the first person to complete 50 runs at Claisebrook Cove so it was apt that despite taking some time out to run at each of the 12 other events in Western Australia, he received his 100 shirt on his 100th appearance at Claisebrook Cove - Nice one Ken.

185 parkrunners took part in this weeks event with 15 first timers and 43 of you scoring PB’s - well done guys, and a special mention for Leah De Sousa and Stephen Tam who both completed their 50th parkrun - Leah doing it in style with a new PB.

On Saturday (20 December) we are having our third ‘Christmas Fancy Dress’ parkrun, all Sasha’s fault! - We'd love to see as many Santas, elves, reindeer, christmas puddings, shepherds, wise men, camels or even a Christmas themed t-shirt and your usual running kit.

A link to the event is below - feel free invite any friends or family who might be interested in joining us, have a great week and see you all at the start!

Cheers (Dutch)
