Personal Belongings at Claisebrook Cove parkrun

There was an unfortunate incident where a bag left by a parkrunner at the start area in Mardalup Park went missing. Whilst we hope that an honest person may have handed it in to the police, please can parkrunners remember that you bring any personal belongings to parkrun at your own risk.

As we have a start and finish area in separate locations, you are responsible for ensuring your belongings are safe. Whilst we monitor any suspicious activity, please remember the volunteers and Event Team are there to ensure a safe event, not to operate a cloakroom.

Christmas and New Year 2017/18

Claisebrook Cove parkrun will be holding an event at 8am on Christmas Day ! There will also be a freedom run led by Event Director Suzanne at 6.45am before set up - so if you want to volunteer, you still get a 5km run (although it will not count to your run totals you can still record it via "My Profile" as a freedom run).

We are not holding an event on New Years Day this year - but options are available for nearby events: Aveley, Lake Joondalup, Carine, Calleya, Pioneer, Champion Lakes, Canning River, Shelley, Kalgoorlie, Geographe Bay. Please check the relevant events website for start times as these can vary.

If you are travelling interstate - check out if a local parkrun is having an event on Christmas Day or New Years day via the Christmas Compendium on www.parkrun.com.au

Merry Christmas parkrunners from the Event Team - Suzanne, Paul, Dutch, Gary and Pete

UPDATE – Construction works on the course 28th November

We are pleased to announce that we can resume our normal course for tomorrow's event - 29th October. The start and finish will be in the usual places, and volunteers will meet in Victoria Park as normal.

Works are continuing along the path - but we will be monitoring the progress in conjunction with our contacts at the Council. Please watch this space and the facebook page for updates over the coming weeks.

Any changes will be explained in the weekly briefing at the start line - so we would be grateful if you can take a few minutes to listen carefully because our run briefings are aimed at making sure all our parkrunners are safe during the event.

Path closure – Temporary change of course 22nd October

We have been advised by City of Perth that the path closure on part of our course is likely to continue until mid-December. Therefore, it has become necessary to change our course on a temporary basis.

To keep things simple and remain within the terms of our agreement with the council, we will be starting and finishing in Mardalup Park and following a simple out and back, with our usual turnaround point being moved to ensure we maintain the 5km length.

Therefore, if you usually arrive at Victoria Park on Royal Street pre-race, please make you way over to the start area where runners and volunteers alike will assemble over the next few weeks. Please allow enough time if you need to use the toilet facilities in Victoria Park.

Please be assured we will return to our normal beautiful course as soon as we can.

It's just a slightly longer walk/warm-down to get your post-run coffee....

Christmas Day 2016 & New Year’s Day 2017

There will be no parkrun at Claisebrook Cove on either Christmas Day or New Years Day over the festive season this year. However, our usual Saturday events will take place on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

At the current time, in WA, we are aware that Canning River, Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Geographe Bay will be hosting additional events on New Year's Day, and Kalgoorlie has also decided to host a parkrun on Christmas Day. Please see the relevant event pages for details of the location - www.parkrun.com.au/events. Please be aware that the start times on these holidays can vary from the usual 8am start - so please check before travelling.

Other WA events will decide in the coming weeks whether they will be holding additional parkruns - so watch this space!
