New Year’s Day 2019

We will host a special parkrun on January 1st. The event will take place at our normal time of 8am. This will allow people to complete the course and then, if you want, make your way across to our friends at Maribyrnong parkrun who are holding their New Year event at 9.30am. January 1st is the only day each year where you can do two parkruns on the one day.

Christmas Day 2017

We will again hold an event on Christmas Day 2017. This special event will be at the special time of 9am. Many thanks to John Andrew who has volunteered to be Run Director.

We will not be holding an event on New Years Day.

The full calendar over the Christmas period is:

Saturday December 23, 8am
Monday December 25, 9am
Saturday December 30, 8am
Monday January 1, NO EVENT
Saturday January 6, 8am

New Years Day parkrun

Once again we are going to have a run on New Years Day. However, this year we will be doing it at the special time of 9.30am.

New Years Day is the one day of the year where you can officially have 2 parkruns recorded. You can see the full list of events here:

Christmas / New Year parkruns

At this point, Coburg, Westerfolds and Packenham parkruns are those that have indicated they will go with an 8am start and therefore offer the prospect of a double.

Please note, parkrun will also operate as usual on both Saturday the 24th of December and Saturday the 31st of December as well as our Christmas Day parkrun (8am).

Christmas Day and New Years Day parkruns

After our very successful run last Christmas we will again hold a run on Christmas Day this year. Also, for the first time ever, we will host a run on New Years Day. Both events will be at 8am as per usual. These are additional parkruns to our regular, Saturday events. Times, points and participation will all count as per usual. Importantly, we will still need volunteers for these events.

We will run the following events over the Christmas/New Year period:

Saturday the 19th of December
Friday the 25th of December
Saturday the 26th of December
Friday the 1st of January
Saturday the 2nd of January

All events will be at 8am.

On New Years Day, parkrun does allow people to record two, separate parkruns. There are other events around Melbourne that are hosting a later parkrun on New Years Day. Notably, both Maribyrnong and Diamond Creek parkruns will be held at 9.30am on New Years Day. For full details see:
